I called for a quote on a 1 bedroom with loft move. They said it would be $1500 - $2500 but they would need to send out someone to take a look for a more accurate quote. The guy comes out, I show him everything we have to move so I say 'how much do you think it will be now that you saw everything'. He say 'well, we already have the quote written up. It's going to be $1500 - $2500' REALLY?! Movin on ?

Quality movers was supposed to move us on 8/19. I was advised against using this company by a local business but they were very professional on the phone when I called for a quote and to set up the move so I decided to stay with them. We were told it would be $215 an hour for 4 guys and a 26 foot truck and that they would disassemble beds and shrink wrap all furniture with drawers and cabinet doors that opened. Knowing that, I had blanket wrapped and shrink wrapped everything else in advance so that when they arrived everything was ready.

At 7:50 AM I received a call from QM saying that they were on their way to rent a U Haul and would be a little late, which was fine. That didnt bother me too much as I know things happen. At about 9 AM they finally show up, they said they were late because the community guard would not let them in so I was not sure why they would lie about that when they already told us they would be late when they called to say they were picking up a UHaul. (I called the guard and he confirmed for me they were only at the gate for 2 minutes and 40 seconds) When they arrived, I looked out the door and I see a moving truck that was not 26 feet and a small trailer. They step into the house and they have no tools and no shrink or bubble wrap. So I proceed to ask questions. Q1- We were told we were going to get a 26 foot truck, the truck you have is going to require multiple trips, who will pay for that since that is not what we agreed on . His answer-its your stuff so you are......OK so it is what it is even though I didnt agree I just said Ok. Q2- Where are all of your tools, and the shrink wrap and the bubble wrap? A- We dont have it with us. That was not OK....I said I was told by the girl on the phone you would have these things. We need them to get the remaining stuff wrapped up. His answer was so unprofessional: 'You ask too many questions and thats rude'. My husband said look you need to do this job for us today and you are going to need these tools. His answer again was SO UNPROFESSIONAL !! We dont have to do anything. While I was taken back by this answer my husband followed up with ok so you dont have to do it but we need you to do this job for us today. So they said OK we will all go and get the tools etc. My husband said why not one guy go and then the other 3 get started. They said because we are not coming back. Well that was it....they walked out the front door and down the stairs to the driveway and as they walked down the stairs my husband shouted the appropriate expletives that were fitting for them. I asked the one guy if he could tell me his name so I could call his boss and he said his name was Pablo, which was not his name (confirmed by his boss). Although I was annoyed at how we were treated I was not bothered at all that these guys didnt move us that day because I really did not trust them to touch my stuff and handle it in a careful manner after the first couple of seconds of dialogue with these guys.

I did ask the owner, Daucett, to call me and he did. We spoke on 9/22. He is actually a very nice guy and was very apologetic. He did say that it is his business and ultimately his responsibility. I believe his words were genuine. I have to give him credit for that. Even though its a reflection of his business he can not control the actions of other people. I hope that if he decides to keep this particular crew employed he gets them the customer service training they desperately need.

After talking to the owner it was a hard decision to post this review or not but in the end, I decided I dont want anyone to have the same experience as we did.

The definition of the backwater town company that you'd expect in a town of 300 people (I know that Payson is 15K). Don't answer their phone, don't respond to voicemails, blatantly lie to you. I'd place more faith in a vagrant camping in front of a gas station than these people being straight with me (when I was able to finally get someone to answer the phone).

The team at Quality Movers, Josh, Johnny and Austin, just completed a partial move for us. Friendly, careful and efficient. They completed the move under budget! How often can you say that! Thanks Gents!
