Absolutely, positively, the best move we have ever done. And considering this was #14 during my military career, that is about as strong of an endorsement as you can get. We had ZERO items broken in a full truck in June. First time that has ever happened. That included a full size hot tub that a forklift was needed to get on the truck, french door fridge, front loading washing machine and dryer, everything we had in a 4 bedroom and full basement house in PA. I was certain we had cubed out the truck...but they were better in that regard too...no 'oops', it didn't fit and trying to figure out what to do with another truck. Never seen so much attention to both the house we moved out of and into for damage, including things like covering all carpets and floors. Beyond that, the driver James and his crew were over the top attentive to our requests in terms of schedule and making door to door work. BL, I can't stress how good these guys were. I know exactly who will be moving me in two years for my next PCS. Reads Moving Systems!

I was very disappointed to have my motorcycle damaged by Reads moving staff. The local movers in VA were did an exceptional job. I watched them load all of my possessions with great care and strapped everything snug and tight. I helped them load my motorcycle and watched them wrap it up and take great care in making sure it was safe and secure. Unfortunately it seems that's where the excellent service ended.
Our belongings had to be placed into storage at the Reads Movers Philadelphia location which is where I believe things went south. Sometime between the unloading into their warehouse, and loading back onto the truck is when the damage must have occurred. When the local movers here in NY opened the trailer, the comment heard was 'Oh my God. It looks like a tornado went through the trailer.' It was a complete mess. (The local guys up here were awesome as well by the way) My busted up motorcycle was off loaded first and we needed to figure out a way to prop it up because the kickstand was bent to 90 degree angle, parallel to the ground. When I brought it to the dealership I was told that the frame was bent and that there was no way damage like that was due to a simple fall in the back of a trailer. There was also other damage to the body and mirror.
The claims process was horrible as well although that was not the fault of Reads. Of course, Atlas Movers were ready to pay the claim quickly until they spoke with Reads' owner. I don't know what he told them, but after that conversation Atlas decided to have an appraisal of the bike which turned up exactly the same information as the dealership stated. All it did was delay my claim a few more days.
The only bright spot I saw with Reads was the driver. Ted was excellent. He was very helpful, friendly and extremely apologetic with regard to the damage. He even volunteered his personal cell phone number if I needed it.
If and when I ever move again, I will make sure that I use a different moving company.
