Roadway Van Lines works professionally, and I would have no difficulties endorsing them, especially if you’re moving house possessions and furniture. I would give them a 5-star rating and use their services in other future moves too.
First off the things came in really bad shape, I mean it really bad. My table came in with a huge hole dent and the cyles chain was worn off. The things in the box were semibroken and some things were broken completely. The moving time took 2 weeks , when they advertised is as just a week or so. Really disappointed.
They created a cozy small bed in a truck and kept her calm throughout the entire journey. They were such sweet people. I am glad I hired a good company.
To be fair. The estimate was provided in advance. You can even get 200$ discount. The price was reasonable given that I moved from MD to TX. Paying 50% for pickup, then the other half at delivery is cool. Laura and Sandra were helpful on the phone when it came to creating the inventory list and I was able to text and email them. They are very nice. I believe an Ashley helped as well.
The only few things I didn't like were that even though I had a confirmed change of delivery address, the delivery company did not have the update, and I had to text him the update. You cannot pay online for the drop off and pickup fee (only cash app and Zelle, cash, or money order Yikes!!) I hate that because both Zelle and cash app can get locked, have daily/weekly limits or have technical issues. I rather pay online through a link or portal that is secure and better. I had a delay with Zelle login, and it caused us to be an hour behind waiting to it to start working.
I had to put one of the initial movers in the beginning that came in for pickup in his place because he tried to crack slick. He was nasty, but he was put in check quickly and effectively. That is no fault of the company at all. The stuff was not damaged, and 90% of the movers are easy to communicate with and respectful and will ask questions and take pictures If needed. I would use this company again. But please make online payment an option one day!
We contracted with Roadway Van Lines to move 12 pieces of furniture from Maryland to Florida. Three of the 12 pieces were destroyed. Despite having provided photos and dimensions of each piece of furniture in advance, they wanted additional money for bubble wrapping at pickup before they would load them on the truck. And at delivery in Florida, they would not unload until we paid the balance in full. We were lucky though I guess because if you read the reports filed with the Better Business Bureau, it could have been worse.
