Royal Moving and Storage

I hired Royal Moving because they gave me the lowest quote, but unfortunately, that didn't hold up. They tacked on every possible additional fee, making the final cost higher than other companies I considered. One particularly frustrating example was the truck placement. I suggested they park one block over so the truck would be closer to my apartment, reducing the distance they had to carry my belongings. Instead, they kept it farther away and charged me a 'long-distance walk fee'--then charged me again to move the truck after I pointed it out.

I get that hidden fees are standard in the moving industry, but what's not standard (or excusable) is losing multiple boxes, including my pressed wedding flowers--something sentimental and irreplaceable. On top of that, they lost a box of expensive running shoes, worth roughly $1,000, my husband's Xbox, and another box of miscellaneous items. They also broke my TV. They only allow you to make one claim. So if you discover a week after filing a claim that you're missing more boxes, they will not allow you to claim for it.

To make things even sketchier, they only accepted Zelle or Cash App upon delivery, and both apps repeatedly flagged the number as a likely scam. In fact, my Zelle wouldn't even let me pay one of the drivers because it deemed the transaction too risky, so I had to go withdraw cash instead.

The movers themselves were very friendly, but let's be honest: you kinda have to be when you're exploiting your customers. I wouldn't recommend this company unless you're okay with paying more than expected and potentially losing some of your belongings in the process.

If I could give this place zero stars I would! The movers that came to move me out of my condo not only dropped several of my boxes down the stairs but completely destroyed the stairs with their handcarts! My landlord had to pay over $4k to repair/replace the stairs! And, they were gonna charge me a fortune for “extra items” that were not included in the quote. They were over a week late getting my things to me and when they finally delivered, there were so many broken, damaged items and my main TV was missing! The TV was left after they unloaded my items in a warehouse, which I didn’t know they were doing. It took 4 months to finally get my TV delievered to me. I filed a claim through their joke of a “3rd party” service called CSI Claims. Their first offer to settle was just a little over $200! When I appealed, even after following the directions of getting 3 estimates for the damage done to the stairs at my former place, they still came back with an ENTIRE “good faith” offer of $500! I decided to try to go through arbitration but they require a fee of $700 to start the arbitration process! An absolute nightmare! I decided to take their measily $500 because it’s now over 5 months later and I just can’t keep going. Do NOT use them! Make sure if you use any moving company to carefully check your paperwork! It’s a total scam and I am planning on reporting them to anyone who will listen!
