Schroeder Moving Systems

Very easy to get a hold of when you owe them money, impossible if there is any other concern. The actual workers on either end of the move were pleasant and worked very hard. However they were not given adequate time to do the job and the job wasn’t done completely on delivery. Finding a lot of broken things during unpacking. They won’t even return my emails after expressing my concerns, that’s all they probably would have had to do to correct the issue. UPDATE: I see now I got a response… to my review… but there was no interest in my emails before there was a review nor since. They say to call the national 800 number “if I want to talk about my experience”, did me emailing the people who worked in the local office not directly and quite clearly imply I wanted to talk about my experience? Don’t pay them until the work is done fully and correctly, but just go with another option is the the better move.

Overall the Schroeder moving experience was not bad. However, what we expected for packing and what was delivered were two different things. We were told not to pack breakables because the packers would come to our house and do it professionally. If we had known the careless job they were going to do, we would have packed breakables ourselves. Breakable items were packed with hard items. For example, wife’s collectible porcelain thimbles and decor were collectively thrown into a wad of paper with hard minerals and a clearly antique postage stamp (see pictures). Boxes did not clearly indicate content. Picture frames were wrapped together front to back with the metal hangers scratching the adjacent frame. Unpacking has been frustrating and upsetting; it’s hard enough to guess what’s in a box, and when we unwrap the tons of wads of paper, it’s a mixed hodgepodge of items that are seldom well wrapped or protected. The representatives of the company were polite and professional, the movers were wonderful. The lack of care and respect for our personal items by the packers significantly detracted from the overall experience.

This relocation experience was so much less stressful with Schroeder! From the virtual walk through, to packing up, and unloading was effortless. The crew were professional, patient, and caring. I couldn't be happier that I chose to go with Schroeder! 100 stars!
