Seconds Movers

I have used Seconds Movers twice over the past 4 years (coincidentally), and I can say confidently that moving forward I will use them with all my moving needs. There was a tropical storm the weekend I was supposed to move. Seconds Movers was incredibly flexible given the weather, allowing me to make a game time decision the morning of. It was difficult to get workers who wanted to make the move during the storm, so the owner and office manager took it upon themselves to do the move. They are highly efficient and treat all your items with care!

Awesome people and excellent job performance.

Leon and Jennifer have helped us on two different occasions. The first time they unloaded furniture and MANY boxes of household items and books from a rental truck into a storage unit. They were efficient and professional. The second time they unloaded furniture from a rental cargo van into one location. Then they followed us to a different location where they helped us move furniture from upstairs to downstairs and downstairs to upstairs! They also moved a king-sized mattress and box spring and a bookshelf downstairs and put them in the cargo van to take to the dump. They then followed us to the dump to help us get it all out of the van and placed in the tall trash containers. What they accomplished in two hours would have taken us all day to do! They are courteous, helpful, and friendly. We highly recommend Seconds Movers will definitely use then again!

For your sanity, do not use this company. To begin with, the movers were 2.5 hours late, claiming it was due to them voting that morning. By all means, please exercise your right to vote. But when you know you’ve been hired for a job that starts at 8 am on Election Day morning, vote early (the polls have literally been open for weeks), or go after when the job was scheduled to be finished at noon.

Second, upon arrival the movers were SLOW. My husband and I ended up moving at least 1/2 of the furniture and boxes ourselves, or else we would have been there all day.

Lastly, the movers had very little expertise at effectively packing a truck. We asked multiple times what their plan was and their literal response was “I don’t understand.” At the end, when everything didn’t fit (because it was inefficiently packed), they stopped assisting my husband as he loaded the last bit into the truck claiming it was a hazard—they also said the movers at our destination point were likely to refuse to unpack us because of how “unsafely” my husband added things at the end. No surprise, the movers (from a different company) at our destination point had *no problems* unloading us.

Moving is stressful. In the last 12 years I’ve moved ten times, so I know what quality help is, and this company is not it. They made an already stressful day even worse.

after 2 other moving companies failed to move our belongings, Leon & Jennifer showed up promptly ready to start loading our stuff on the truck & once they got started, they didn't even pause until all of it was loaded & ready to take to our new place in AWESOME TIME!
they beat us to destination when we knew where we were going, & got our stuff into our 2nd floor apt. just as quickly as they got it loaded.
5 stars is lower than we'd like to rate them, & I'd use them over & over, as well as recommend them to everyone.
they were the hardest working, most pleasant couple I've ever seen!
