Shelter was great from start to finish. Our rep, Jarla, was professional and quick to respond to any question we had. Movers on both ends were polite and hard working. Would recommend with gusto.

I really enjoyed Brian’s help with our packing and moving. His big smile has made the stressful situation so much easier. He and his team has done a wonderful job. I really appreciated their help!

This was our worst relocation experience. Worked with Shelter Moving & Storage through Atlas Van Lines. We thought Atlas Van Lines is a very reputable moving company, and decided to go with this most expensive option to save some headache. The result has been nothing but disappointing. We unfortunately encountered the most unprofessional/dishonest packer at the origination. If you were to work with them, be prepared for a stressful experience and be sure to check every line they put on the Inventory at the origination. For a $10k-20k price range, 1000mile move, we expect better experience. For about half of the amount we paid, we can hire 3 man and a truck to do the job with much better outcome.
Just to give a list of things that we experienced:
1. Though clearly mentioned in the quote, packers did not bring in tools to dissemble our piano. Half day lost trying to run to a hardware store to get the tools.
2. Again though clearly mentioned in the quote, packers did not bring in enough mattress bag, resulting in soiled mattress and bed frame.
3.Packers falsely put EXCEPTION SYMBOLS on ALL our perfectly good furnitures and items and claimed prior damages before the shipment. Resulting in damages can't even be claimed.
4. Packers falsely marked CP (Carrier Packed) on items that cleared were not packed by them. For instance, they marked CP on step ladders, box fans, electronics in its original boxes, and things were just shipped without any packaging.
5. Packers not only inflated the number of boxes packed, some of the boxes they packed were just laughable. Just to give you an example, found a box full of packaging paper plus 3 pairs flip flops.
6. Packers did not put barcode on or log many items shipped including all our framed arts, again can't any claim loss/damage on these items.
7. Packers carelessly dissembled our furnitures and did not keep all the parts in an appropriate manner. Their unprofessionalism turned our full size bed, office desk, and a 8 seat dinning table to fire woods and scrap metal. To this day, I still don't understand how they managed to lose 2x30lbs solid wood dinning table legs.
8. Packers dissembled our lamp shades during loading, again, not only they didn't log/barcode them, they manage to lose all of them. All our lamps, including my favorite arc lamp, are scrap metal now.
9. Packers decided to bring in a smaller truck for the job (again cost saving?), had to call in a smaller van to finish the job. Another 2hours wasted.
10. We were already told our delivery will be ~ 1week late and we're given a reimbursement form. Then suddenly the day after, while at work, got a call from them saying shipment will be at our door in 4 hours and we have to pay the billed amount in full in order to receive the shipment. And then despite all the issues we experienced, they went radio silence after got paid.
