We were in trouble. During our 45 years of married life, my husband and I combined a habit of shopping at thrift stores with a practice of never getting rid of anything. Then we tried to absorb our parents' things when they passed, leaving us with boxes filling our basement, living room, breakfast nook, garage, and two of three bedrooms. Every horizontal surface was cluttered with things we'd collected plus stacks of books and papers. Plus we were older now and not in good health. 'We need help,' I prayed. We had no family in the area. The next day I heard that a friend similarly burdened had used Shields Transition Services when she moved, with terrific results. We hired them on the spot after consulting with them. They are reasonably priced, very friendly and respectful, at the same time utterly professional. With them we have never felt judged or pushed to do more than we could. They have worked at our pace. Basically, they are the muscle and encouragement and organizing skills that we have needed. They are amazingly efficient while honoring our decisions about what to sell, donate, send to the dump, and keep. They help problem solve storage concerns in our available space. They choose honest, hardworking, and friendly people to work for them. They have also created their own moving company and are expanding into house cleaning if needed to help maintain our progress. We are in the middle of our job and are totally satisfied with this great service oriented company with an enormous heart and dedication to helping older people process their possessions, whether downsizing or moving. Efficient and friendly. Very accommodating.

We were in a difficult and time crunch situation. Needed to get our father moved into an assisted living facility in a hurry and we do not live in the area. We called Shields and they came out right away to look at what we needed done and gave us not only reasonable estimate, but also suggestions and contact numbers for others that we would need for the move. They worked within our time frame, and even went out of their way to pick up a chair from the furniture store. We had a slight damaged item situation and Chris and Steve made it right for us by replacing the item even though they did not have to under the terms of their contract. I would highly recommend them for your moving needs! Highly professional, quick, and super friendly!!
