Smartbox Moving and Storage

My experience with SmartBox was great! We had 2 pods in storage for over 2 years, and just recently had to take out our stuff, to be shipped internationally. Ricardo, the manager of the location, was absolutely amazing and so accommodating. He worked with our tight time schedule and provided updates once the pods had been delivered and picked up.

Our pods themselves were in pretty bad shape when they were sent to us 2+ years ago, and since we needed to move that day, we didn't have a choice but to use them. For that, I would have docked 1 star, but this location is now managed by someone new, who is much more on top of it, and I know he wouldn't let that slide today. So I've rated 5 stars for our recent experience with them.

SmartBox is a no brainer for local moves, and in our case, worked well also for a long term storage solution. Ricardo and his team will take good care of you and your items!

Scheduled delivery for 3-11-2022 a month in advance.
on 3-8-2022 We were told the driver quit and that they would get back to us in 2 days

Never received a call. I called waited over an hour on hold. by a SUPER RUDE customer service agent Latoya. She informed me 'Your delivery date is the 31st' I explained to her just as my wife explained to her a week prior that we would no longer be at that address and we could not receive a delivery. I asked her who changed the moving date to the 31st?
She replied with 'the manager'
I asked why no one told us about this? Her response was 'I JUST DID'

No comprise being offered other than for me to drive over 5 hours to pick up my items then drive 10 hours to the new location. They wont deliver to our new address, wont deliver to our current address OVER TWO WEEKS AFTER THE SCHEDULED DATE. AND THEY CHARGED US FOR DELIVERY

This businees is insane. to top it all off this woman Latoya REFUSED to transfer me to a manager and her only response was 'he gunna tell you the same thing' Then placed me on an additional 40 minute hold.

RUN AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY JUST LOOK AT THEIR BBB PAGE THEY ARE NOT AN ACCREDITED BUSINESS.

I will be filing charge backs for every charge this company has charged me over the year we have used them. Im out about 6,000 dollars worth of items as well including things that cannot be replaced. HORRIBLE COMPANY. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. DO NOT USE THEM RUN

Very friendly customer service with punctual and accommodating service. Juan, who delivered our two smart boxes for our unpacking, got them to fit perfectly in our driveway (no small task) and was willing to make adjustments so we could unload more easily. We greatly appreciate his help.

I'd been w/ SMARTBOX for almost seven years. It was really convenient having a storage space, where I could move items in and out as needed. Given the fact that they also deliver/pickup the container, it made it that much more valuable, especially when moving, b/c they'll drop it off at your old place, let you pack it up, then pick it up for transport to your new home.

The containers are pretty large, so you can fit furniture in them, and their entire staff was really nice and helpful. I finally cleared out my container, but I'm going to reopen my account again in a few months when I move.

I would stay away from this company. Super unprofessional. Read reviews from other sites - the stories are horrific.
I went with this company because it was half the price of other moving pods and the booking staff was helpful and friendly over the phone.

I scheduled everything with plenty of time for leeway in my move. Got the text for drop off as scheduled, however due to their only truck “breaking down” I didn’t receive my initial drop off 3 days late. Each day they kept promising their truck was fixed but never delivered. It wasn’t until day 3 they said they had a second truck that was also broken(?). Their main method of communication was over text, even after I repeatedly asked for the manger to call me back. It wasn’t until I emailed corporate(who was extremely rude) that the box was finally delivered. They promised same day pick up so we loaded up our box within 2 hours but as you can probably guess within those two hours their truck broken down again. The manger refused to answer or return my calls and only responded once over text. It was very rude and extremely unprofessional.

The box finally got picked up - again another 3 days late because suddenly they don’t work weekends or Mondays and their truck miraculously got fixed overnight. It was extremely sketchy and very stressful as we were now on a time crunch to vacate the parking spot where the box was sitting. We had high doubts we would ever see our stuff again. But thankfully the MN company was prompt with delivery and pick up - and I gave them a nicer review for it.

I would avoid this company and would not recommend them. Again please read reviews from other sites. Most the 5 star reviews on here are from “people” who have only ever written reviews for this company - it’s sketchy.
