This company is owned by an amazing local mama! She is thoughtful, fair and very honest and upfront. Her movers are rock stars and honest! They work hard and long hours until the job is done. I’d definitely use them again for any size move.
Smooth Moves was an absolute life saver. They made moving day a breeze in every way possible. The quote and contract I received were reasonable and easy to understand, the movers showed up on time and were courteous, careful and went above and beyond to make sure all items were packed and moved safely. This is a small, local woman owned business which is why I chose it in the first place, but I truly could not have been more pleased with the results. I spoke with the owner several times on the phone and she even stopped by on moving day to make sure everything was running smoothly. She is extremely nice, helpful and went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied. I will definitely reach out to this company again for by next move!
Just had the best move we have ever experienced with this company today. We had a lot going on and their movers were incredibly accommodating and friendly. I was very nervous because we had quite a few antiques that are pretty big and fairly heavy but these guys were really careful and did a perfect job. The owner and her office staff were amazing too, I must have called them 20 times before our move date with questions about covid and other things concerning our stuff. They were always very responsive and thorough with details and they were just very professional, knew their stuff, and it was all very reassuring. Today was seamless and so much less stressful than i ever thought possible. we have had some other bad experiences with other companies in town so it was such a relief to finally find a good company. Thank you again guys, cannot recommend this company enough!
On moving day (12/15/19), one of the movers was an hour late and this prevented the company from completing the job they were hired to do. Because they were short on time, they couldn’t even fill the truck on the second and final haul although I was only moving half a mile away.
The movers did not have the presence of mind to protect my velvet couch, and they scuffed it while carrying it through a doorframe. The movers also chipped wood furniture because they were careless and rushed.
At the end of the move, the person who had been late mentioned that he expected a tip. I was appalled, as I had every intention of tipping both movers and still tipped 25% in spite of lateness, the incomplete job, and the low quality of the work. I was offended by the apparent assumption I would not tip and the tactlessness with which the subject was addressed.
On a Friday afternoon, as I was boarding a plane to travel for the holidays, I received a call that my invoice was ready for payment. I explained my traveling situation and unavailability over the weekend. By early Monday morning, I had voicemails in which I was threatened with a civil suit. I was also assessed a late fee. I began arguing with the company about their entire way of doing business and their tone. They insulted me in such a way as to show that the people working there are unstable and possibly even dangerous. The threats and insults demonstrated a kind of inchoate, unregulated rage. You can get a sense of it from reading their replies to some reviews here on Google (unless they've taken them down at this point).
Our interaction ended with them calling me an “entitled nightmare customer.' Yes, I am entitled to certain services when I pay you hundreds of dollars and sign a contract where you agree to perform the services and, yes, I will predictably be quite upset if you utterly fail on your end of the bargain and then behave in such a way as to make me feel like I need to tell my friends and family your names for my protection.
Bottom line: absolutely do not deal with this company. They are terrible people who do terrible work.

08/25/20: Updating to remark that the company's reply to my review is full of lies. The point of my review is to express my utter and total dissatisfaction with the service I received. The company is basically attempting to speak over me and say that I was actually satisfied. If I were satisfied, I would not have written the review I originally posted. In fact, my dissatisfaction was so remarkable that I wrote a review roughly six months later (not 8 as they claim, which speaks to their lack of attention to details and dates). Apropos of their misfire with dates, their reply is inaccurate regarding the date on which I was invoiced and the date on which I was fined. Finally, they are lying about my association with 'Garicka.' Garicka merely liked my negative Facebook review of the company. I liked her reply. I do not know her. The extent of our relationship is a shared dislike of this company.
I hope my personal account of my experience with this company, combined with the unprofessional reply I received from them, dissuades you from entering into business with them. I want to spare others from the ordeal I endured. That is the sole reason I wrote this review and updated it.
Moving is already stressful enough without dealing with incompetent movers; working with these dishonest, desperate folks will ensure a truly regrettable experience.
