Spartan Movers

We used Spartan Moving Systems for our home move.
The team was friendly and cooperative. They showed up on time and finished within the time frame we were given. Nothing went missing.
HOWEVER, THEY LEFT NUMEROUS SCRATCHES ON OUR FURNITURE (see example in first picture). I contacted the office and they sent someone to inspect. We showed them the scratches and we were asked if we were certain they did not preexist. Of course we were certain and we showed them a large mark on the wall right next to a bed they assembled (as in the second picture) in our freshly painted new home, as further evidence of the carelessness of their team.
What went wrong? As I later realized, they had temporarily stacked pieces of furniture one on top of the other at the new place, without any cushioning or other separation to protect the surfaces; and the chairs of the dining set had marks, where one would expect if they were placed one inside the other in the truck! Terrible! So much for the blankets they used..
After the inspection, we were told we would be contacted soon, as they had to make internal enquires. We heard nothing and had to call them after weeks had passed. In the end we were offered a discount which we did not accept. What we were after was a restoration of our furniture. They then gave us their insurance details and finally, after months had passed, we received from the insurance $246, which we thought was a joke!! Do what with it? Repair which piece? Their insurance covers losses by weight, which may be standard practice in the industry.
I do not blame the team as much as the management. It would appear that they received no proper training. The crew did not even stop for lunch, which I think is irresponsible from the management. I offered them quick lunch as well as plenty of water throughout the day which they appreciated. They got tired in the end and left several boxes, marked for certain rooms, in the garage. We did not mind that. We could move the boxes ourselves. They would still get 5 stars. But the scratches on our furniture is indefensible and unforgiving.

Years after they botched our move to Texas, Spartan has started spamming my phone for referrals. Time for a review, I guess.

Spartan drastically underestimated the weight of our move, but had a minimum and a maximum they would charge for. After they weighed the load, they tried to charge for the full weight, well over the maximum charge on the contract.

The also drastically underestimated the time it would take for packing, loading, and unloading, leading to very long days at both ends.

They did no research on the delivery location, and were totally unprepared for the narrow gate and long gravel driveway I had told them about. They rented a uhaul to bridge the gap, and because they had delayed the delivery, they ended up doing it in a heavy thunderstorm and the uhaul got stuck in the driveway.

The shady business practices and botched job were a real turn off. I'd be tempted to give them two stars because the team members were individually skilled and hardworking (covering for the screwups), but spam messaging me years after botching a job... Yeah, no.

I was amazed at the speed and efficiency of the team. They packed 2 sectionals, a couch, 2 desks, shelves and much more from oir house, into a tiny portion of the truck.

They even moved our piano without breaking it, something the previos 'piano movers' didn't accomplish.

When we got to the new storage unit, despite their skills, i didn't think everything would fit. It did.

Very happy with the service.

We used their moving services to move our 4 bed/2 bath home. They sent a 3 person crew who arrived on time, did a great job in carefully loading all of our stuff and moved and set it up in the new place which was about 40 miles away.

The movers were very professional and efficient. They were also flexible and accommodating. I will highly recommend their services.
