Storage 85

If you’ve been looking for storage options and had passed over Storage 85 in the past, it’s time to give it another chance. The facility is under new management! I’ve had a unit here in the past (about 4-5 years ago), and I didn’t have faith in the current management at the time. It was bad enough that I called up a fleet of friends with trucks and got our stuff out of there asap one evening. Fast forward to now, and I was in need of a unit again. Watford City has a couple different storage options, but Storage 85 has climate controlled units and is gated. I was hopeful that even if it was under the same ownership, the staff had changed. So I gave them a call and spoke to Heidi. All I can say is WOW! I, admittedly, started off a bit abrasive, since my previous rental experience was less than ideal. Heidi “killed ‘em with kindness” as the saying goes! She was incredibly patient with me; she listened to all my concerns and was able to reassure me of how secure the facility is. She answered my, what felt like, one million questions without a hint of annoyance. She described the rental process to me and the requirements very clearly. She even took the time to discuss all my different options (and there were a lot!) with the available units, insurance, term length, etc. Storage 85 was on my blacklist, but after my experience with Heidi, it’s the first place I’d recommend! Thank you Heidi and thank you Storage 85 for providing Watford City with a clean, kind, and secure storage facility!

I do not recommend storing your belongings at this storage facility. While the facility itself is nice, the staff is not kind and extremely unhelpful. When I called to book a unit, the staff member I spoke with indicated that it was an inconvenience for her to make the necessary changes to accommodate changes to my unit. Her attitude made the entire experience unpleasant, and I would suggest looking elsewhere for a storage unit where the staff is more willing to assist customers.

Very unprofessional and their property manager can’t explain why they started making people renting a camper space pay an additional insurance through them when it’s already required for your camper to be insured to be on their property. Also, the gate doesn’t work. I first chose this place because it wasn’t far from the house and it was gated. If the gate doesn’t work they should be emailing the renters to let them know their property is open to the public. For the price you pay to rent a camper space that’s open for anybody to come in and drive off with your property you are better off going to Sidney, Williston, or Minot where you can park your property indoors and rest assured that it’s secured and locked for right around the same price!
