Storage Sense - Romeoville

The only saving grace for this place is their friendly local staff. Otherwise nothing good to say. The prices are outrageous and I’ve gone up twice in one year. They say it’s for improvements yet they’re still a lake in the entranceway. The units themselves smell and our shabby. Which wouldn’t be a big deal because it’s just a storage unit except for the price. This place has been around for over 20 years so I can tell you firsthand nothings changed and then “improved” since storage sense bought it. And if that wasn’t bad enough, the one time we were late on payment for the 1 unit we’ve had for almost three years (because it’s almost $200 a month now) they haven’t reinstated our access code for a month. so make sure you’re not late on a payment or you may never see your stuff even if you make your account current. I called to have this addressed again and was told they couldn’t do anything without talking to the account holder (my husband). That was not acceptable to me since they didn’t need to talk to the account holder to accept our payments, and if they would’ve reinstated the code when they should have, they would not have needed to talk to the account holder. I made it clear that I wasn’t looking for any information, I just needed them to fix the error and make the code work again. I was very clear that I didn’t want the code, I didn’t want the unit number, didn’t want any information whatsoever. Just wanted them to do their job. So now we’ve been paying for a unit that we haven’t been able to get into for a month.

Great customer service

Very expensive. Went from 95 to 165 in a couple of years. No discount for multiple units. That’s my main gripe. It’s a storage unit not a house. Stop being greedy. Staff is good.
