Review:

I've been renting my storage unit at this facility since October of 2021, when it was under different ownership/management, and had nothing but good experiences with the facility, management, and staff. Then, Storage Star took over the facility in March of 2023 with zero notice to existing renters, and overnight, the customer service has absolutely tanked. They required me to come in in person to fill out new autopay paperwork, but their office is only open when I'm at work, or else they were going to require that I FAX them the form (not email, only fax, like it's 1995).

They hiked my rate effective March 1 of this year (2024) from the $130/month I'd been paying for over two years up to $149/month. I got my notice on January 31st. So, that's an increase of $19/month.

My rate increased again 6 months later to $164/month. This time, I received no email and no notice in the mail. Suddenly, they were just taking an extra $15 out of my checking account.

Today (11/20/24) I received a notice in the mail dated 11/15 telling me that my monthly rate will be increasing to $219/month, effective 12/15/24. That's an increase of $55/month.

So, in the space of less than 12 months, they will have increased the monthly rent on the same unit I'd been renting for YEARS by $90/month.

THAT IS A 70% INCREASE IN RENT IN LESS THAN 12 MONTHS

Of course, this notice also came as the weather is starting to get cold and nasty, and going into the holiday season, both of which make moving out of the unit more complicated and difficult, and that's without taking into account the fact that the holidays are a time when people are most strapped for cash.

This ownership/management group are unethical and greedy, and their customer service is trash.
