UNITS FLOOD. NO ONE ANSWERS THE PHONE. RATES INCREASE WITH ONLY 15 Day NOTICE. AND WHEN YOU MOVE OUT THEY WILL STILL CHARGE YOUR CARD EVEN IF YOU NEVER HAD AUTOPAY.

My family rented two storage units from storage mart. We began renting units on September 1st 2024.

On November 15 I received a letter in the mil saying beginning December 1st my rate would go up $20 per unit.

In December I stopped by the storage units to retrieve something around 9:30pm and upon entering my unit it was flooded. After taking pictures and assessing damages I drove to the gate and tried to leave. The gate would not open and continued to say “invalid time”. I was locked in the storage units. I attempted to call the 1800 number that is “always available” with no answer and had to call the Davenport police department.

The following day we attempted to call the storage units to get help submitting a claim for the flooded items. Called SEVERAL times and left messages with no response. Over the next week we attempted to call the number several additional times during business hours with no responses. Still to this day I have not been able to make a claim about this.

In January we vacated our units. Tried calling DURING BUSINESS HOUSE to cancel them and no answer. We left a message letting them know we needed these units cancelled. They emailed us stating they would ensure our units were cancelled and vacated by 1/31. I sent back confirmation pictures of BOTH units empty.

On 2/1 I received an email stating “Thank you for your payment”. Even though I have NEVER had autopay with this company and have always paid via a link sent each month. They apparently saved my payment information in their system without my knowledge and charged my card. When I again just attempted to call them, again no one answered.

I would NOT recommend this company to anyone.
