Review:

I have moved a lot and this is the best experience I’ve had with a moving company. They were on-time, focused, thorough, and very professional. I will definitely use Tate the Great for my next move.

Review:

I had Tate the Great Moving handle a long-distance move from my old home to a new one. They sent a great team—Kevin, Al, and Daryon—who showed up on time and packed everything securely. The team was respectful and professional. Overall, a good experience.

Review:

AJ and Nate, we’re very professional and nice guys. I’m pretty laid-back and was not worried about any damage to my things but they did not stop there. They even said that they would feel bad themselves regardless if they hurt any of items even if I wasn’t worried about it. Affordable, fast, and friendly. That’s what you want. I’ll definitely recommend this company in the future. Thank you again.

Review:

Don't do it. Get ready for a long review as to why I giving them 1 star. When I moved to my first apartment here in Atlanta they were recommended to us. Black owned & Veteran owned, so being a child of Black parents that were in the Navy (one parent being a Doctor in the Navy for 20 years) it only made sense to support A Black owned & Veteran owned business. First move in 2022 went fine. Fast forward to my second move in 2024 just a few months ago, which is why they are getting a 1 star review.
Before breaking this all down here were the numbers:
175 an hour for THREE (3) movers with a 3 hour minimum. In total my move cost around $800.
4 hours of service + the $100 tip to the movers who damaged my property & left an item on the back of their truck and had to turn around and drop it back off to me AFTER I let them know I was missing something.
Red flags:
1.) The website stated that it was a $100 deposit, but when I reached out to schedule my move I was told it was a $200 deposit. Alright fine but in the future maybe update the website to reflect new rates & prices? I don't know that just seems like the most business forward thing to do.
2.) I was quoted around 700 - 1200 dollars to move a 1 bedroom apartment from one side of the city to the other. That fee included 3 movers at about 175 an hour with a 3 hour minimum. #2 is not inherently why I gave them 1 star because I'm not doing any manual labor. I don't mind paying a premium for a AMAZING service.
3.) I was charged 175 an hour for 3 movers but the 3rd guy was an hour and some change late. They told me this as soon as they arrived to my Apartment, and funny enough I was still charged as if he was present.
4 & 5.) Now keep in mind, Ive had had all my furniture in both apartments (old & new) delivered & put together by whoever or whatever store I bought it from. 4 & 5 are coupled together for good reason and you'll soon know why. When it was time to move my $900 couch & $600 chair out of my old apartment. they couldn't find a way to get it (the couch) downstairs through the elevator, they asked me how it was delivered when I bought it (in 2022 mind you) & I told them that they brought it up the elevator with no issue and all I knew was that the legs of the couch & chair were detachable. At some point, between them taking my $900 couch out of my apartment, down the staircase, onto the truck, & into my new apartment, they busted/ tore the seams on the bottom of the armrest of one side of the couch, with a small gash at the top of the armrest. Mind you, at the time of the move, the couch wasn't even 2 years old, $900, and barely used. The couch now also wobbles so who knows what kind of internal damage was done but apparently the damage to my property is only worth pennies to them (I'll get into that later). My $600 chair was also damaged, again Im not sure what happened from the time it left the front door of my old apartment to being placed in the living room of my new place but something punctured the side of my chair.
6.) I noticed the damaged to my furniture immediately. I told whoever was the head mover(?) while they were still moving things into my apartment bout the damage. He took pictures, & said that he would file the claim (he didn't) I followed up about a couple days to a week later calling the company about it and they had no record or idea of what I was talking about, ok whatever my have slipped his mind. Before I finish with #7, #8, & #9 , the head mover asked for a tip & regretfully I did tip them (Especially with the lack of care my furniture was given) $100 cause at that point I was annoyed and wanted them out of my place.
7.) Left a Mirror on the truck that they had to bring back once I noticed it was missing. At least it wasn't broken or damaged.
8.) Now that I am fully moved in ive realized that I am missing another item that I know was packed in a bin that was loaded on the Truck.
9.) Filed a claim with their insurance and what I just received is a slap in the face, especially for their negligence.
Happy Holidays!
