Review:

Movers were polite and considerate. They knew how to load our pod and took extra care with fragile items. We are very happy with the Ferris Moving Co. :)

UNRELIABLE!! company cancelled less than 24 hrs before job. I selected this company through U-Haul to load U-Box for relocation. Payment was made accordingly. I never heard from anyone. I tried multiple times the week prior to the move to confirm, did not get a return call. Finally, the day before the move, the manager at U -Haul was able to make contact only to be told they would not be showing up, and gave no explanation of why they were cancelling.

Fortunately a company out of Hagerstown Md, Safe Care Moving, agreed to do the 2 hrs trip to Altoona to load the PODS. This company was fantastic, call them! AVOID FERRIS MOVING COMPANY

This experience was a disaster. It was a good reminder that good reviews do not always mean you'll also have a positive experience.

Key takeaways: if you go with this company, be prepared for a literally last minute cancelation with no forewarning, and use a payment method where you're able to dispute the charges.

Had a moving job scheduled for 10AM Saturday. I received an email at exactly 10AM Saturday stating they had to cancel. Not a call... a 160-word email. The email stated he was on a job or else he could call. You're on a job, but have more time to write a 160-word email instead of calling your customer? Please... The email also stated the movers called off. Surely they called off before 10AM? Why wait until the very last minute to send a cancelation? Communication with your customer should be of the utmost importance. If it's one hour before start time and you're having trouble getting things together, CALL your customer to let them know so you are not wasting their time...

I wish it ended there...
Two deposits were paid to the company prior to Saturday. One refund showed on my statements as processing that same day, but the one paid a week prior was not. Called about it - no answer or returned calls. Emailed about it - no response. Only after I mentioned I will be pursuing legal action several days later did they finally respond saying they are 'diligently' working on a refund. Did that fix it? Nope. I had to file a dispute with my credit card company to get a refund.

The email stated that they understand cancelations like this would ruin a reputation - this review should come to no surprise then. I've learned my lesson and I hope this review will help others make a better choice.
