Town & Country Moving & Storage

Very disappointed in this company. After paying them over 29,000.00 for moving out of one home, in storage for 1 1/2 yrs, and moving into another home, we had issues with them over damages. Although we paid for insurance coverage, in the end, they rejected 441.74 of damages (they paid us 752.42 for some damages) plus could not repair all furniture to its prior condition. The items rejected were packed inadequately by their employees. After appealing to their owners, they would not even give us the courtesy of a response. We do not recommend this company.

Our response to the owner:

Yes, the owner David was reluctantly here three times. The first visit he simply looked at the damage his company caused and did not repair a thing. Then it took him two more visits to attempt to repair the items. Again, the items that were rejected in our claim were items packed by T&C employees and should have been covered by the insurance policy we paid $1,200 for. David stating that the “claim submitted was processed and honored per the selected moving coverage” is pure nonsense. David simply chose to not approve the damaged items T&C neglected to properly pack. Some of the damaged items were in plastic containers. We told the movers they were not packed for a move. They took them and stacked them in a way that completely crushed the containers and the contents inside. T&C suggested it was our fault for the damage their company caused and denied the claim on these items. Other repairs were not satisfactory and again we had to accept T&C’s position on them. Our only choice was to arbitrate in some fashion for the $441.74. We thought a professional moving company that we paid over $29,000 to would stand behind such a minor claim. Since settling in, we continue to discover more damaged and missing items. It’s obvious to us that their storage systems are haphazard at best. Cynthia (office manager) was great to work with. Unlike David the owner, she was responsive and attempted to understand the problem. David's personality and lack of trying to resolve issues is lacking at best. His last visit he didn’t want to discuss the issues and simply handed us an envelope and said it’s our final offer take it or leave it. We strongly urge you to find a different moving and storage company.

Everything about our recent local move was superb -- from Mike's initial meeting and estimate, to Cynthia's gracious scheduling and wealth of information, to the six 'Great Americans' on the move crew. Every one of them thoroughly professional, friendly, efficient and hard working. I recommend Town & Country with no reservation whatsoever. You won't look back.

Moving was very positive. Jeremey & his crew were very professional, helpful & friendly. It rained on our move day & the guys never complained about anything. They worked quickly & got the job done without any issues. They did the job in the allotted time despite the weather challenges. The price was fair & competitive. Our move was local across town & I would recommend Town & Country for sure!

I would definitely recommend Town & Country Moving and Storage to my friends and family. We were relocating from Pennsylvania to South Carolina and also had a load of furniture that needed to be moved to our daughter’s home in Virginia. Mike came out to the house twice to give us a quote and he was great to work with. I also can’t say enough great things about Cynthia who works in the office. She was so helpful and encouraging. The moving team came on time and were so professional. Alan, the team leader was organized and on top of everything. Moving with Town & Country was nothing short of excellent! Every part of my move was perfect thanks to the incredible communication and responsiveness of all included. The owner, Mike, took the time to FaceTime and assess my belongings to generate an accurate quote. I would recommend our movers, Ryan and Jeremy, 1000x times over. They took the time to shrink wrap/pad everything and carried out a 1 day, cross-state move from MD to PA seamlessly. Highly recommend Town & Country Moving & Storage!
