Truck Rental at U-Haul

I rented a 9’ van to move some furniture recently. The manager checked me in, gave me the key and said be back by 3pm. The vehicle was fairly new and very clean. When I got in the van I was terrified. I am 5’ 4” I could barely reach the pedals or steering wheel. He should have warned me and given me another option. When I brought the van back, he laughed at me when I told him it was not for a short person. he actually told me, he called it a “death trap.” Also it cost much more than the $19.95 per day and $.89 per mile. they get you with an $11 collision fee. By saying if you get in an accident you have to pay for all damage immediately upon return of the vehicle if you don’t pay the $11. Also getting in and out of this location is quite scary being that it’s on the expressway.

Unfortunately I can't post with 0 stars. NO customer service skill at all from the manager. Rude and unprofessional. They don't care about their customers. You're just another $. Don't reserve online without knowing there rules because there not the same. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME! I reserved a truck with Penske while waiting for a ride from uhaul within 10 mins. Was able to use the truck for more than 6 hrs ( Uhauls rules on weekends) even though the website lets you reserve it for longer. The manage didnt care that i didnt receive text that he said they sent, didn't care that I was able to reserve it online longer than 6 hrs, didnt care that his company completely ruined my plans for the day. I am Chief of Operations for storage facilities and if that was my manager he would no longer have a job. Uhaul doesn't care because someone will always need them. The exact reason we don't do business with them at our facilities. RENT WITH PENSKE!
