I do not write bad reviews. This is rare!
On February 15th we had two men and a truck move us from Parker to Castle Rock....about a 20 minute drive. We are planners and we booked them about 45 days in advance. We were quoted a range of pricing between $1800 to $2800 (roughly). The day before, we had friends help us move about 12 pickup truck loads to our house. We are not 'pack rats' either! The sales lady quoted us the price based on square feet, # of bedrooms, etc. She said between 4-7 hours would be the time estimate...
During the move the company broke several items...I pretty much ignored the first few items (a chip in the wall, a broken Christmas decoration which was about 4 feet tall snowman gift, a lamp shade). Then they broke an end table leg, an historic window from my grandparent's farm which we were going to use as a decorative piece in our new home. In addition, we had 2 electric recliner chair's and THEY FORGOT TO ATTACH THE ELECTRICAL mechanism and they are worthless now. We filed a 'claim that will be reviewed by upper management' for those damages.
When the move was over they said we owed over $4200 as it took them until 10 pm to finish at our new home. I swallowed hard and paid them.
The actual moving guys were friendly and courteous and did work hard. My issue is more with the company as I believe they are a complete bait and switch company. They give you an estimate to reel you in even though they know they cannot complete the task in that time frame. The workers told us they underbid all of their jobs in terms of how much time it takes.
The bottom line....all these people are trained to be friendly and nice....and they are definitely good at that making sure they are nice all the time. Meanwhile, their policies are to trap you and bait and switch. We have the means to pay for this but I would feel awful if someone was on a tight budget and had another $1400 to come up with to cover the surprise.
Finally, when I inquired about where they might have put the electrical adapter to the chairs....they said they may have left them on the counters of our old home. They were not there.....but the Regional Manager said we owed another $75 that they forgot to charge us for.....so I got that going for me....which is not nice.
I have used Two Men and a Truck multiple times and always had great experiences. Tom and Nick from Centennial Denver moved my crate load last week. There were many many boxes and furniture to be assembled. They were extremely helpful and it was a pleasure to work with them.
I wanted to mention the 2 men who helped me move from one apt to another apt on 6th floor. Their names are Tom D. and Kurt C. We had no problems and they helped me by letting me tend to my husband who has dementia.
Don and Blair were awesome! They helped us so much and were very friendly and professional. I’ve used two men and a truck in the past and have always had a great experience. I highly recommend them!
Quick and professional. Nick and Blair were great
