U-Box at U-Haul

U-Haul did not provide us with accurate information regarding our U-Boxes, including sending us to the wrong town in an attempt to access our U-Boxes, and forgot to tell us important information, including how U-Boxes must be returned the same day if you are using movers. U-Haul made our moving experience so frustrating that we decided to throw away a ton of our belongings rather than deal with U-Haul any further.

My experience with U-Haul U-Boxes has been terrible. My boxes arrived at my home 3 days after their guaranteed arrival date, which not only meant I was living in a basically empty apartment for 3+ days, but I had to reschedule the movers helping me to unload them. Because I had to reschedule the movers, I did not have access to my things for another full day because that was the earliest the movers could come. This is all after living in an empty apartment for 8 days prior to my move to allow for enough time for the boxes to get to my new location on the guaranteed arrival date. Further, I received NO communication with U-Haul about the delay or the reason for it. The only information I received was from me calling many times to multiple offices. In fact, the day before the 'guaranteed' arrival date, I called U-Haul to inquire what time they would be arriving the following day, and it was only then that U-Haul noticed that the containers had not shipped yet! Despite leaving several messages with different staff, I still have not received a call from the State College store (or anyone else for that matter) with an explanation. As if it could get any worse, I have also not received any refund or discount for all of the inconvenience and the lack of receiving what I paid for. I would not recommend using U-Haul U-Boxes from this State College store or possibly in general. It has been a real nightmare when moving is an already stressful time.
