I scheduled a van for a 10AM pickup on Saturday, the 13th of July and when I showed up, I was told that the van had not arrived yet because another U-Haul employee was still using the van. This person was 2 hours late, so they scheduled me for Noon that day, instead.
I will quote the U-Haul ‘Reservation Guarantee’, “Should U-Haul, through its own fault fail to meet time, place and equipment size of your truck, trailer or towing equipment, a $50 'Reservation Guarantee' will be paid and U-Haul will still attempt to fill the reservation.”
This was not offered to be, however, I believe that since I agreed to reschedule to Noon, I forfeited eligiblity for this. I do not appreciate that this was not offered to me, and I do not appreciate that I was forced to inconvenience myself in order to make it easier on the employees. It should be the other way around.
The day I rented my truck for my move, the staff was wonderful. Today when I went inside, there was no staff inside. I waited inside for about 10 minutes and then I went outside. There was an employee outside. I tried to get his attention but he ignored me. I greeted him three times before he acknowledged me. He told me to hold on a second while he finished what was working on. I think Customer service a priority. There other U-Hauls - which I am now at.
Efficient and no waiting after reservation was booked online.
I have rented vehicles 5 or more times from this location in 2022, and they’ve always been friendly, clear about every step, helpful, and all with a combination of professionalism & humor.
The U-Haul reservations app has a couple of glitches but overall is easy to use, as well as to make reservation changes or updates.
