U-Haul Moving & Storage at I-26

Emily was very helpful with helping me find a truck and a storage unit to store all of my personal belongings in a short period of time!

**Issues Faced:**

- During reservation, we specified the storage needs and requested a unit equivalent to the size of a 15' truck. We were assured that a 10x10 unit with a 7 ft opening would accommodate everything packed in a 15' truck.
- About 1.5 to 2 hours before arrival, we called to confirm that the unit would be ready. We were assured it would be prepared.
- Upon arrival, we found a dead rat in the unit (photographic evidence available). We had to arrange for rodent removal ourselves.
- After the rodent was removed, we discovered that the items in the truck did not fit into the 10x10 unit. Consequently, we used a friend's storage unit at Public Storage for the remaining items.
- We returned the truck on Friday, 8/7, with the handtruck still in the truck. On Monday, 8/10, I contacted customer service and learned that the handtruck rental was still open. The representative attempted to contact both the store at 400 Orchard Dr, West Columbia, SC 29170, and the manager’s cell phone without success.
- The representative also tried contacting the facility at 3754 Fernandina Rd, Columbia, SC 29210, but again received no response. I was assured I would receive a call from both facilities within 24-48 hours:
1. To confirm and close out the handtruck rental.
2. To offer a larger unit at no additional cost for the first month, with the original quoted rental fee for subsequent months.

**Conclusion:**
The lack of customer service and follow-up is unacceptable. I will be moving my items to another storage facility at the earliest opportunity.

Bro, 5 stars isn't a high enough rating. Emily Duheme was nothing short of amazing. I've had a horrible experience moving to Columbia, SC with regards to realtors, property managers, school district HR, etc. and she able to be a bright spot to all of it. When I was expecting more bumps in the road and more things to go bad/wrong, she did just the opposite and helped me out. She was very accommodating and even changed my drop off location to a closer one. The saying 'it is not how you start, but how you finish' couldn't be truer with my experience. She was the light at the end of the tunnel... and to my surprise, she wasn't the train. lol. She works hard and definitely takes pride in her work, has a passion for helping people, she's a great communicator, and was understanding and willing to work with my unique and hectic situation. If I ever move and need to use a Uhaul again, I know which location I'm heading to and who's getting my business. In this day and age, you can't pay enough for a quality employee like her. I know a few real estate companies and HR departments that could use her work ethic and a quality employee like her.

I love all the staff but the young lady that work on 5-1-2024 all she is excellent

The service here isn’t to friendly the guy is a totally JACKASS why would I want to even spend my money here!
