U-Haul Moving & Storage at West Florissant

This U-Haul location is horrible!! I made a reservation yesterday for 7 am today. This morning I had a family emergency and I was running about 2 hours late to my reservation. When I was almost there I checked my U-Haul app and there was no reservation. So confused I called the West Florissant store and they said “we called at 7:15 and it went straight to voicemail” NOBODY CALLED ME. I have no missed calls, no voicemails. My trusted contact (that is added to the reservation for the reason of not being able to get ahold me) has no missed calls no voicemails. When I talk to the lady her solution was, I can rent you a box truck we don’t have no more pick up trucks for the rest of the day. I said I don’t want a box truck. I reserved a pick up truck then I asked her what her name was at which point I was told I was yelling at her being rude and she hung up on me, I was not yelling. I was talking in a calm collected tone the entire time so being already on my way there I went ahead and got there made a reservation again with corporate U-Haul Which by the way they had no problem getting me a truck for that same day. And there was four pickup trucks on the lot, not in the pick up zone, but facing the road you know showing them off to people basically saying hey we’re here. You can come rent us While I’m still on the phone with corporate after my reservations are confirmed and I had filed my complaint I did get notification from them that my reservation has been canceled because that location is refusing to rent to me due to the confrontation I had with the store employee who apparently was the general manager. This location is completely unprofessional. They have no regards to people, their time schedule, what they may have going on today. They lie to customers, they lie to corporate and make up excuses. They covered their own tracks whenever our called out on their BS. I am disgusted with this location. I will never rent from them. I will tell everyone I know to never go here never rent from here and never get a storage unit here. Stay away at all cost.

This is one of the best facilities I've been to in a long time. Rental was fast and easy with lots of vehicles available . Employees were very friendly and informative. The truck was clean and ran great . No complaints here.

It's was easy, and reasonably priced.

Worst overall experience. Within the first year my unit had roaches, in which the staff offered no help or compensation for my soiled storage unit apart from the option of moving all of my things to another unit. Secondly there were multiple break ins during a period in which I was not in the city or able to be, and it was not reported to me or on record that my unit was tampered with. I came home only to find out my unit was broken into because of missing items that I could not produce when going through my locker, and I found the cut lock that had been kicked under my unit. And this was not the first time. Once before I came to visit my unit and there was different lock on it because somehow my unit was “left unlocked”. I was told there was nothing they could do because I didn’t have insurance, and I’m not sure if I did or didn’t. The management said they would email me the information, for the insurance claims department and she never did. The things that went missing were apart my livelihood and how I made a living, and also how I kept my son safe in the car. Uhaul has lost a customer.
