U-Haul Moving & Storage of Bellwood

This is a great location. I hate I didn't get his name but the gentleman who took care of me was very pleasant and professional. He was courteous and helped me with everything I needed.

Highly disappointed!!! Rented a truck(fully insured)which unfortunately was involved in a hit & run overnight while parked. Truck had to be towed! 2days later I receive an invoice for almost $7000 for damages & tow!!!! I’m confused on how I should be held accountable/responsible when the truck was legally parked & insured! I followed the protocol by contacting the 800 Go Uhaul when it happened! It’s been 2wks now I’ve been trying to dispute this matter & NOBODY has reached out to me!!! I would rate them a 0 if I could! Very unprofessional!!!! Go anywhere else but the Bellwood location!!!?

This place deserves zero stars, the general manager is completely unprofessional and the owner of this establishment must be broke because he is scamming customers on fuel charges. They will give you a vehicle on empty, charge you a fuel fee, and they want you to return their equipment with a 1/4 of a tank of gas that costs more the the fuel charge that will be reimbursed supposedly. And if you don’t return it on a quarter tank they will charge you another fuel fee. I hate doing business with liberals, and I’ll never do business with this establishment ever again.

If I could give NO stars I would. I rented a storage at this location in August of 2023 and I should’ve known it was going to be problems when they had a change of 3 managers in a years span: from Larry, to Orlando, now to Arianna. This “manager” (girl) couldn’t run a mile, yet alone a whole store. My experience was so unprofessional from having myself, a handicapped customer, endure long wait times to be serviced. Ultimately, because they’re understaffed, or not even present in the store during business hours. In addition to two unauthorized reversals of my storage payments, and then not even having paper in their printer for a physical receipt.

The past few months have been ridiculous because of their incorrect ledger on my storage invoice. Uhaul WebEx keeps auto generating $30.99 and $50.00 fees from previous months, and when I call the store to address them, the manager says that their “auto generated,” however when I get to Uhaul, they want me to pay them when I’m already paid up for that month. Lastly the day I finally move out of my storage, I have several boxes that have been damaged by flood water that has leaked inside my storage unit.

Please avoid renting any storage with them especially Unit 167 as it will flood and ruin your belongings. I am super glad to be done doing business with them. I have called WebEx customer service to complain and I will not stop reaching out to corporate because something has to be done about this location. Please save yourself the headache and go to surrounding stores like Melrose Park, or Broadview.

Arianna is just a ray of sunshine. That facility did not work for me, but she was so helpful that I got my boxes from her and will use them for all other needs!
