Booked and reserved ahead of time. They tell me last minute that uhual truck is not available. Sloppy and lack of professionalism
I booked a reservation for a truck to move a month ago. I called to confirm they would have it weeks out and they confirmed they would and then I just called to confirm the day before and they said they never have one way trucks available. Whats the point of U-Haul if you can't move things from one place to the next.
I've had lots and lots of U-Haul experiences over the years and many times they are not positive, but our experience this past weekend with this U-Haul center and especially the service from employee at the desk (I wish I had caught her name, but she is from Florida - give her a raise) were amazingly and wonderfully different! The employee was busy all day but remembered our phone call and request when we arrived in person. Even though she was helping other people when we arrived, she greeted us and assured us she'd be right with us.
The pickup went well, the drop off was super easy, we even needed to rent a utility trailer in the middle of our reservation and that also went super smoothly. There is a clean bathroom in the rental center which came in handy a couple of times, and the tiny house showroom across the street was super fun to visit too!
Devin was so wonderful!! I had planned remarkably poorly, and he was so patient and helpful. Absolutely one of the business’s best representatives! I had an excellent experience and I’d use them again!
The reserved pick up truck was not available as they could not get in touch with who rented it before me. So I go back home, call over an hour later, still the truck was not returned that I had reserved. I was offered a van and took it as I had to move something that day, but since it was not a truck I could not pick up another piece of furniture so I only did half of what I intended due to the reservation not being available. The attendant told me the manager at this store would try to not give me the reservation guarantee money, so she gave me a number to U-Haul directly. This was on a Saturday and the manager was out of the office. So I call back Tuesday and was told the manager already denied the guarantee BECAUSE I PICKED IT UP LATE! THE TRUCK WAS NEVER AVAILABLE and of course it was technically picked up late because I waited a few hours to see if the pick up truck would be returned. I called U-Haul customer service and the lady pretty much laughed at me because the manager 'beat me to it'. It was an extremely wild experience. I will also say, no one called me to tell me the truck was not there, which seems like a basic step in this process when something like this happens.
The manager at this location seems to be some sort of power trip loser.
