This place is awful. I wish I could give it a 0 star review. DO NOT GO HERE.

I apologize in advance for the long rant that I’m about to give.

It all started when my girlfriend went in to get a hitch installed at this place. It ended up taking all day (8+hours) after they said it would be only a few hours…. and they didn’t even finish the install. She went back in for the next appt about a week later to get it finished. After waiting about 5 hours, she called and called and no one answered the phone. She ended up just going to the place and her car was done. Who knows for how long. Annoying, yes, but not the end of the world.

Now, two weeks go by. She goes in to get the trailer that she had reserved and they didn’t have one. They didn’t tell her in advance or anything either. They just advised her to try across town. Ok, again annoying, but she’ll just get one across town at a different place.

So, she goes across town and gets a trailer, well, tried too. The electrical wasn’t working properly on the trailer lights, so they wouldn’t let her take it (which I understand). One blinker was working correctly and the other one turned on both blinkers. She then goes back over to this U-Haul location that I’m giving the review on, and the guy is persistent that the car is causing the wires to short and there’s nothing he can do. Tells her it’s not on him or U-Haul.

She ends up taking it across town to two different mechanics and they tell her it’s a faulty part, but it shouldn’t be the car causing any issues and that they should’ve caught this issue. She then goes back to this U-Haul to explain what the other mechanics said, with invoices from both mechanics. The U-Haul employee still tells her he can’t do anything except order another part and try again. She demanded a refund and never got one. She said they could have all the equipment back and everything and just to give her the refund for the electrical install. She couldn’t even rent a trailer from U-Haul because it didn’t work, and they still said no.

All in all, she showed up to get a trailer that wasn’t there. Wasn’t notified that there was no trailer for her there before she showed up. Had 2 appointments for the hitch/electrical install that didn’t work. Got charged 250$ for the just the wiring that didn’t work. And couldn’t rent a trailer from U-Haul because the wiring didn’t work that U-Haul installed (twice).

PLEASE. PLEASE. PLEASE. If you’re the owner of this place, get a grip on your employees. They’re young kids and they have no idea what they’re doing. Look at all the recent reviews and they say the same thing.

If you’re a customer, use the U-Haul off of Huffine or Jackrabbit lane.

Sorry again for the rant. I spent 6 hours today talking to mechanics, talking to uhaul places, talking to electricians, talking to so many people just trying to figure out how to get my girlfriend on the road. No help from this U-Haul location and I had to eat all the costs. ?? stay far far away from this place

Review:

For the life of me do not understand why I go through all the work of filling out stuff in the app ahead of time, enter payment, you name it and then I get there and have to run through all of this stuff again. The staff doesn't seem to know what they're doing or have any customer experience skills at all. When I brought the trailer back there appears to be only 1 person working there, it's unclear what to do with the trailer. He says we'll get you unhooked and you'll be on your way, I'm waiting about 10 minutes and when he finishes with his other customer he looks at me and says can I help you? Yeah I want to drop this trailer off and get out of here. I'll use one of the other locations from now on maybe have better luck.

Review:

I had a terrible experience with Bozeman U-haul. I have used other U-haul locations in the past and haven't had these issues. I believe it stems from “Talisha” who is rude and unapologetic. They called me last minute and said that they don’t have my trailer despite my reservation and that I have to drive to Butte to get it. They said they would not offer refund or offer the $50 reservation guarantee because I am “a #2 customer”. Talking on the phone with Butte U-haul they were much more respectful and said I should at the very least get my $50 that Tanisha was refusing to give. For someone who is the “traffic control manager of Montana” she does a pretty terrible job.
