U-Haul Moving & Storage of Cohoes

Upon arrival, and after confirming with the 800 number several times before I departed, I arrived at the Cohoes location to having no storage unit that was confirmed several times and I also have a confirmation number. After traveling 2 hours to arrive and be unable to unload items on a one way trip is absolutely unacceptable. Uhaul obviously does not properly train employees or give them the resources to do their job. I am being told to wait until the employees cell phone is charged so that a supervisor can be called. Absolutely a mess of a location and I would use other moving services and companies well before UHaul is ever used again. Corporations fail the American public over and over again.

Easy in , easy out… pickup and drop off

I had a great experience at Cohoes U-Haul. Anthony went out of his way to make sure that I got the hitch I needed installed in a timely manner. He was super communicative and helpful throughout the process!

U-Haul rented us a truck that wasn't properly inspected. We discovered during our move that one of the floor panels was loose. It was missing several rivets, which means it wasn't inspected well. This was over a gas tank so it was obviously not safe to continue. We found out when someone stepped on the panel and it gave way. We ended up waiting over 4 hours for it to be fixed and they refused to reimburse us for the moving time that we had to pay extra for. Even though they rented us an unsafe truck and it was their fault. The extra time cost us $700. $700 is not a lot of money for a company but it is a lot of money for ordinary people. I definitely cannot recommend a company that is unconcerned about the safety of their clients and too concerned about money.

Definitely no stars for this UHaul location. Reserved a truck to be picked up at 9 am since that is when the store states it opens on Sundays. Arrived at the location 15 minutes prior to 9. I waited for 1.5 hours and the store still hadn’t opened. Called multiple other locations, ie. Albany and they kept stating someone was on their way but no one ever showed up. Completely unacceptable and unprofessional for the manager to not honor store posted hours or customer reservations. Lots of angry customers waiting for trucks to be picked up or dropped off! Definitely would not recommend this location unless you have some extra hours to spare.
