Paula is the rudest, most disrespectful, most dismissive, raucous person I’ve come across at your place. She has zero customer service! That dirty attitude of hers will continue to turn people away from you. You guys need to check her; I don’t believe she likes her job. Please look Into this before it gets worse!!! Thank you
Front end staff on point. Organized and efficient. Truck was clean and low miles. Easy return. Go to place for a rental in Waterbury CT. Well done.
My self checkin/out experience was not the greatest. While going thru the prompts to obtain keys I did not receive the email as to where my truck was located. So I looked at every truck on the lot. Turns out the keys placed in my assigned locker were the wrong keys, so I could not get my rental & get on the road for my move. Luckily a uhaul employee came out as he noticed I was having problems. I told him the key issue & he understood as he had my assigned keys in his hand. He also realized an employee put the wrong keys in my locker. This put my moving time back by at least an hour.
Upon my truck return process there was no key drop box to be found on the front of the building. It appears there USED to be one on the wall for the entrance/door of the uhaul building. So I placed the keys in the locker (no lock available to secure the keys in said locker) on the wall where I had originally picked up my keys at check-in. I took video of me doing this as proof that I did infact return the keys.
Overall not the best experience. I left a review of the trucks performance (which needs attention to squishy brake pedal, loose steering/lots of play in steering wheel & shocks/struts as truck was bouncing all over the road) when I completed the return truck process.
I feel UHaul needs to do better.
CORPORATE CUSTOMERS BEWARE!!!!!!! UHAUL needs to retrain their staff on their policy. Went to pick up a rental van for the weekend. Uhaul gave us a verbal quote which I wrote down, but the confirmation email didn't show any estimated pricing. Store General Manager was away for the day. Our pickup was for 7pm, location closes at 8pm. The two young men that were working were courteous, but unfamiliar with corporate rentals. We're a non-profit, presenting a gift certificate that should be presented at the time of pickup. They contacted their GM who was gone for the day. She immediately began ranting about being on UHAUL's time for 14 hours now, she was unfamiliar like her staff with gift certificate redemption, and was seriously nasty about an issue we had with the change in rates that they wanted us to pay onsite. Per UHAUL corporate sales our payment card on file should make picking up the cargo van a breeze...but they wanted us to pay onsite and were not aware of any corporate stuff. We ended up having to cancel our original reservation as it was significantly 40% more than the local individual rate (which was still higher than what was quoted to us when we initially made the reservation). They refused to use the gift certificate at the time of booking under the directive of the GM (still ranting)...I'm not sure if she realized my husband and I could hear her conversation on the video call she was on with the other employee as she directed him on how to process our order. GM told them we could only use the gift certificate at the time we're returning the vehicle. She kept on telling the employee, 'Don't show my face, I don't want them to see my face, Nope!' This kind of behavior was so unprofessional. It was now well beyond 8pm, we just wanted to leave but needed to get the cargo van that evening.
Well, guess what when we went to return the cargo van a little after 2pm (return date) ... the first young man who completed the transaction noticeably left the are so that his colleage (who was present at reservation time) would 'deal' with closing the transaction on the return....we also still couldn't use the gift certificate because the other young man told us it should have been used at the time of making the reservation (which they had in hand at the time); his GM is away for the rest of the day as her shift is up...come back tomorrow before 1pm. WOW! Horrible incompetence.
We've rented from UHAUL many times over the years. This particular location was seriously deficient in candor. Never doing any kind of business there again.
