Employees were rude when I brought the truck back I was uncharged about 20$ and the truck drank a half a tank of gas on a local trip
Horrible service Brooke need horrible
Good customer service
This place is an absolute nightmare.
First, the key to my Uhaul disc lock on my storage unit broke off in the lock. They tell me only a manager can cut locks off, the only problem is that they don't have a manager on staff. This was a Wednesday. They tell me they should have someone hired by the upcoming Monday.
This forced me to postpone my move by a week. It also meant that I was charged a full month for the unit because I was unable to empty it by the first. That's $100 I'll never see again. Monday comes around, they still don't have a manager. They tell me I can pay a locksmith to cut it off. That's $120. Why should I have to pay for their faulty equipment?
I went in and cut the lock off with an angle grinder. I made sure to take pictures before and after so they couldn't try to say I damaged anything. No one said a word, which means anyone can just waltz on in and cut locks.
Next I go to pick up my reservation for a truck, tow dolly, and hand dolly. I had made the reservation on the phone, and somehow my reservation was for the Princeton location. The bearded gentleman helping me says 'No problem, I'll transfer it over.'
The transfer didn't work so he whipped up a whole new reservation. I realized that the hand dolly wasn't listed, so the gentleman wrote up a reservation just for the hand cart. This caused me to be charged an additional $72 deposit. No problem, I'll get it back, right? We'll get to that later.
They gave me the truck and a tow dolly for my car. When I get home, I realize that the dolly is missing the retaining pin for the right side ramp. It's being held on with bailing wire. Absolutely not safe. Now my move is postponed another day because I have to go BACK in the morning to switch out the tow dolly.
When I get the new dolly, I drive up on the ramp and the associate straps down my car because he knows more about tow dollies than I do... or so I thought.
Everything was fine until the last leg of my move. When I arrive at my destination I discover that my driver side tire is COMPLETELY unhooked! The safety chain is dangling from my axle and the webbing has fallen OFF my tire! (See photos)
This could have caused a catastrophic failure resulting in the death of myself or someone else. Absolutely unacceptable.
I get to my destination and turn the truck and tow dolly in with no problems... except that the hand dolly isn't in the system. The hand dolly I was charged a $72 deposit for.
I call the McKinney store and say that the Uhaul where I am at doesn't know anything about the hand dolly. He looks up my info and tells me I was supposed to return the hand dolly to a DIFFERENT location than the truck and car dolly!
I asked him why wouldn't I just return it all to the same spot and this man says, 'You probably just weren't paying attention.'
Then, he gave me an 800 number to call. He gave me the WRONG number!
Luckily, Corporate was able to call the Uhaul I dropped everything off at and confirm that they received the hand dolly.
It's not my responsibility to micromanage them. It is THEIR responsibility to pay attention to detail.
This location is an absolute mess and I hope they find a manager that can shape the place up.
I've used Uhaul for every move I have ever made. It has always gone flawlessly. This location is the only location in 35 YEARS to mess up so badly.
Do not like it at all.
Truck engine is to small and truck to heavy so fuel mileage is very low.
