Dropped off truck at this location after moving from out of state. Went inside to get instructions on where to park, what to do, etc. Stood at the counter for a good 5 minutes watching an employee eat his lunch at the service counter. Just ignoring me and customers behind me with such intent, that it was actually awkward. I don't think he was clocked out because after he ate his bowl of soup or whatever it was, he finally looked up and asked how he could help me. I doubt management reads these or cares, judging from all of the reviews about poor customer service at this location, but just in case they do, how about having your employees eat their lunch out of view of the public. I just spent several unpleasant hours moving, and standing at the counter while an employee ignores you, because he's fixated on his bowl of soup, really pisses people off.
But they weren't done yet...
A few hours later, I got an email saying I was charged for $9.10 in gas. When I rented the truck it was at 1/4 tank, which is 14 gallons. I had stopped at the QT a couple of blocks away prior to the drop off. the truck was nearly empty so I actually added 16 gallons just to be sure. The gas gauge was very clearly indicting well over 1/4 tank. Luckily I took lots of pictures when I dropped it off, including the gas gauge. So I called the location to dispute it, but they don't seem too inclined to answer the phone at this location, so don't bother. So I called U-Haul customer service to dispute the charge. They submitted the dispute to management at this location and said they had 3 days to respond but it usually took about a day. Well, management waited all 3 days to reverse this charge.
So my assessment of this location is that they seem to really dislike customers. They don't want to talk to you, and seem to be annoyed if they have to. Whether overcharging for fuel is something they do regularly and just hope that most people won't notice, is for you to decide. But since the gauge very clearly read more that 1/4 and they said it showed less, tends to make me think that maybe this wasn't just a mistake. I suggest if you're forced to use this location, take LOTS of very detailed pictures.
