U-Haul Moving & Storage of East Providence

Had a trailer hitch and wiring installed here. The brake lights did not work. Brought it back thinking maybe it was hooked up wrong. Called ahead and they said I could just come in. Went in and was told they wouldn’t even look at it. The surly man hehind the counter was incredibly rude about it. Saying I needed an appointment. I had called ahead and was told I didn’t. They needed to order new wiring, come back next week. Was told it as covered under the warranty. It sure should be! It NEVER worked. Came back today and was told that it wasn’t covered and that I had to PAY to replace wiring that never worked in the first place!!! What choice do I have? The darned thing doesn’t work and never did and I cannot safely tow anything with it. Their incompetence is only exceeded by their utter lack of customer service. There is a good reason they have so many bad reviews here and on yelp.

My last car I had the tow package installed by cap city in Warwick. They were professional, courteous and did it right the first time. If you need a hitch do yourself a favor… go to cap city and have it done right.

Place is a joke, bunch of young kids ignorant dirty unorganized with all raggedy equipment . Will not use uhaul again.

In addition to the flexibility with my pick up time, the truck was clean, and the gentlemen who handled the transaction were very professional and pleasant to deal with. I hope they are paid well.

Overall the process of renting a 10 foot truck was relatively straight forward at the East Providence/ Broadway U-Haul. I was able to make and then modify the reservation online, and/or over the phone. When I showed up, I was able to do the paperwork relatively quickly. The young man who helped me was pleasant, but I think he could have come out briefly to the truck with me to go over a few things like how to open and lock the sliding door to the storage area of the truck, where to tie things down, how to operate the AC, how the gas cap just opens manually, etc. I was able to figure them out, but it should be a regular courtesy part of the rental.
