U-Haul Moving & Storage of El Centro

Terribly horrible customer service. Had to pay $1600 to upgrade from a 10foot to a 15foot and had to drive an hour away from my local uhaul because their 10foot truck is barely enough to tow a car on a trailer. Do yourself a favor and book with Budget Truck Rental or Penske. In any case, these competitors are going to be better. Uhaul knows its big enough to get away with scamming their customers without repercussions

Fast and friendly

First time using the app. Truck was not where the app stated. Walked around the establishment while being ignored by an entitled U-Haul employee. Check camera footage for this employees exemplary high standards (sarcasm). Was helped at the end by an excellent employee that noticed I was hesitant as to where the keys are located.

There’s a new feature on vehicles, when you go over 50mph the AC stops. I drove 250 miles and had to release the gas pedal every 30-40 seconds for AC to start up. The usual 4 hour drive took 5.5 hours, and it was 110° out. I have cancer and end stage renal disease, and I should not be exposed to such temperatures. I am limited in drinking water, due to my kidney issues, and I got dehydrated/heat stroke. My hands, feet and legs started cramping. I was unable to drive directly home because I didn’t want to be alone and drive to my son’s house, where I remained for 3 hours until sun went down and I felt a little better. I was not informed of the eco friendly feature when I rented truck. Had I known I wouldn’t have rented it and gone with someone else. I called roadside assistance and they had me stop at Yuma AZ and it was there that the gentleman informed me of such feature. This feature is horrible, especially for someone with health issues. But it really has no business in the desert regions. Awful experience and feature should be removed.
