U-Haul Moving & Storage of Elmira

Had a great experience getting the 10’ foot truck. My rental unfortunately had some battery issues and I was stuck at the outlets for 1.5 hours waiting for a service truck from bath. That’s fine and all, my poor experience came when I tried calling the local facility for assistance and was immediately placed on hold for 16-17 minutes until the facility closed at 7 with no answer and I was unable to call them back. Meanwhile I had someone else calling every couple minutes or so and they received the same treatment. I was optimistic about the situation but very displeased overall. Tow truck arrived at 830 and replaced the battery while tightening other connections and I was on my way. Big thanks to All-Season Tire for making the drive.

Swift pleasant awesome positive experience

We were an *hour* late returning the truck (had to move all our belongings on our own, stayed up almost all night moving but we just couldn’t have it done in time) and in return they charged us for an ENTIRE extra day, as well as tacking on several other petty charges such as the gas tank being a gallon below what they wanted, and for driving a few miles over what we initially expected. The $115 we were expecting to pay ended up being almost $250 because of an extra hour and the one gallon of gas the truck was lacking. I understand that they’re running a business, and we were more than ready to pay a late fee or charge for the extra miles. But to almost double our total? When the truck lost a gallon or two of gas on the way from the gas station??
I would save your money and rent a truck somewhere else. At this location, they clearly care more about tacking on petty charges to make a quick buck more than they value a reasonable customer experience.

Erica was extremely helpful.. she was quick about getting us our rental. And she was very helpful when U-Haul tried to charge us an additional $350!!
