U-Haul Moving & Storage of Hamden

My experience with U-Haul was horrific. I reserved made reservations and received a confirmation that I had a trailer rental. Two hours before I was supposed to pick it up the dealer called and said they had none available. I would not not not Recommend U-Haul My experience was horrific

Staff was very friendly. Explained all the policies for the cargo van rental. Provided estimate of total charges. Equipment was clean and in good working order. Easy to check out and to return equipment. Highly recommended

Before i headed out of the lot, i went down from the vehicle and asked one of the staff why it has a check engine light. Then he said “its okay, we know about it and it shouldnt be a problem”. So i went with my day and started loading all our stuff wch was only 2 miles away from uhaul drop off site. After hours of loading our stuff on that huge truck, we started heading towards our destination. I noticed that it started jerking a little bit until it got really bad that it felt like the truck was shutting off and then suddenly it drives again and then it starts jerking again after driving it for a few min. It was too late for us to swap with another truck since it was already late in the evening and we are already all tired from loading the truck so i just parked it at a shoulder and let the engine rest for a little bit and then started driving again. Gladly it only happened once after that stop. When i brought it back to be returned at the drop off site. The whole entrance of the site was blocked off by other rental trucks so i had again to drive all the way at the back to drive on the wrong side of the flow of traffic just to bring it in. So overall it was a terrible experience . I wouldnt recommend this location cuz all of their staff looked like they hate working there and not helpful at all.
