I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the treatment I received from Danny Royed at U-Haul Moving & Storage of Inglewood, located at 964 S La Brea Ave, Inglewood, CA 90301. I believe he holds a managerial position, which makes this incident even more troubling.
The incident occurred when I arrived to pick up my reservation. I had accepted an offer to drop off the rental truck at a different location in exchange for 86 miles and a significant discount. However, when I attempted to finalize the details, Danny charged me nearly $200, completely disregarding the agreed-upon arrangement. Despite my repeated explanations, he refused to contact the other facility to confirm the offer. Instead, he took it upon himself to create his own discount, eventually reducing the charge in increments—from $196 to $165, and finally to $135.
Unsatisfied and frustrated, I had to call the other facility myself to confirm the agreed-upon terms, which led to me being reimbursed for the overcharge. This entire ordeal could have been avoided if Danny had simply verified the information as a professional should.
What was even more upsetting was Danny’s behavior during this interaction. He was dismissive, unhelpful, and incredibly rude. To make matters worse, he took photos of me using his personal cellphone, which I found invasive and inappropriate. Since I had already provided the required photos of my driver’s license through the U-Haul app, there was no justification for this. His actions made me feel humiliated and wrongfully accused, as though I was not to be trusted.
As a loyal customer, I expect to be treated with respect and professionalism. This experience left me feeling discriminated against and deeply uncomfortable. I urge U-Haul to take this matter seriously and address Danny’s behavior to ensure no other customer has to experience this kind of treatment in the future.
