My partner and I made a reservation weeks in advance for a 15' truck. We were rearranged to a 26' in Cedar Rapids, and then found that we had to go to Bettendorf for a 20'. Then, without warning and after we called to make absolute sure we'd even have the truck in Bettendorf, they moved us to a 24 hour lot in Moline which required us to call for assistance who is the only one who actually helped us. Why encourage reservations and not honor them? I know that demand stretches UHaul thin, but I'm surprised that the staff and company itself think there's nothing they can do to remodel their ways for moving season. This was a horrible experience.
Any company that has staff that says 'Just because you have a reservation doesn't mean we have availability' doesn't deserve to have any customers.
The whole uhaul website and main system was down when I went to pick up the truck. I understand that’s a corporate problem but there was no effort to remedy the problem. The truck has multiple issues and needs a mechanic. There was a screeching/beeping noise that started when above 60 mph. We drove for 5.5 hr on the interstate.
The corporate level did what they could to remedy these problems which I appreciated.
Honestly I would consider another truck rental next time.
Gave me a truck with dead battery, when asked for help they just kept ignoring me. Had to wait for 45 minutes for someone to notice me and yet not help. Worst experience ever
