U-Haul Moving & Storage of Merrillville

I originally had a U-Haul set to pick up at the Schererville location on 41, but some go I ended up having to pick up here which cost me more money. The staff there during pick up seemed to be busy and didn’t offer assistance right away but eventually came to help with the rental. I’m not too upset with that, but what did make this a horrible experience was the drop off. I got there at 6:59 and the people had already had the door locked, which means I had to do mobile check in. This would not have been a problem but the PIECE OF CRAP U-HAUL APP WOULD NOT STOP CRASHING !!!! How do you expect someone to check in after hours so that they are not charged extra money when they can’t even submit the necessary information due to app failure. I only blame that location for the lack of assistance.

If I could give 0 I would. I signed up for the 24 hour service where I should have been able to get the truck without an employee needed. I go to check in online at 8:30 and it tells me no equipment was registered. I called the 800 number and did the live chat & was told they have no answers for me that I needed to wait for the store to open at 9. I get told by the employee (he was not the one who set me up) they never even registered me as the 24 hour service. So I don't get out of there till well after 930, I had movers at my house PAID for to start at 9 that waited an hour on me because I didn't get home till after 10. I had to pay an additional hour because I was now behind. Then they gave me a truck on E, we have to return the trucks with a quarter of a tank but they can give them to us on E? I will never use uhaul again.
