Made a reservation a month ago for a 26 foot uhaul and now they only have 10 foot and want us to go pick it up in devils lake 2 hours away. What a joke.
Literally have the worst experience with uhaul everytime I have to use them. So ridiculous.
Claimed my 08 ram 1500 was too small to tow. The only search criteria the man asked was year make and model... nothing about towing packages. Do not use these jokers
Probably the least dependable moving company I’ve ever dealt with. Paid $2200 for a truck a month in advance and was told 3 days before moving I had to go 180 miles to pick up the truck. Had no way to get there and was basically told I was SOL by U-Haul. Cancelled and booked a Penske, the best decision I ever made.
The initial rental was changed on me without contacting me, and I lost half a day. I was supposed to pick up my truck at 7 am, but they switched it to 3 pm. Then they gave me a truck that had a known issue with the engine. When I talked to the CSR, she told me that she could switch it back (She had looked into a computer and seen that there were a couple of other trucks ) but would have to charge me an entire day even though I had just picked up my truck 40 minutes prior. When I explained to her that I felt that this was unfair and I was upset, she offered me a free lock and suggested that I call the 1-800 number. I then called the number and spent two hours on the phone with U-Haul being bounced from one person to the next. Eventually, I got a representative who could help me and called the store directly to talk to the CSR. I was given a replacement truck that ran a lot smoother though it had a little bit of a squeak with the brakes. Upon getting it home, I realized that the truck hadn't been swept or cleaned out at all from the previous move. Because I was already short on time, I did not sweep out of the truck before moving items in. Overall this experience was terrible. The worst part about it is with all of the changes. I could not get a service discount; I needed the truck at 7:00 a.m. Even with being flexible with picking it up at 3:00 p.m. after spending all the time on the phone, I didn't get the pick up my truck until close to 7:00 p.m. Because of this, my move was rushed, and upon returning the truck earlier, I was told that there was nothing to compensate for an early return even though it wouldn't have been as early, except for I had to rush everything due to U-Haul changing dates and having mismanaged equipment.
