U-Haul Moving & Storage of Odenton

U-Haul has really stepped up their game in convenience and value in truck renting. I want to share several glowing positives, and one minor lesson learned with my most recent truck rental. 1) I used the 24/7 app to pick up a truck outside of normal business hours, and was very pleased with the ease of doing so, and great convenience of 24/7 options for pick up time. 2) U-Haul's prices are very good. 3) The truck (a 20-footer) was clean, comfortable, and in great condition. 4) I was nervous about getting zapped with high 'administrative' fees for video tolls where I had no option to pay by cash. I had read on-line that up to a $30 administrative fee per toll could be charged. I was billed a few days after my rental the actual toll charge plus only $1 (yes, one dollar) fee per toll! Thank you U-Haul. 5) Lesson learned - The app has you take pictures of the dashboard to document mileage and fuel level for upload to the U-Haul. I had a small snafu with getting charged for one gallon of fuel after return, despite being very sure that I had returned the truck with slightly more fuel than I had picked it up with. U-Haul's customer service is excellent, and immediately refunded the charge based on my request. The lesson learned is to take your own pictures of the dashboard, because the pictures taken by the app are not stored on your phone. Had I taken my own pictures, I would have had rock-solid proof of the (recalled) fuel level discrepancy, and I could have avoided the anxiety about getting a refund for the fuel charge. Bottom line is that I am very satisfied U-Haul customer.

Came in and asked for a 15 foot box truck. The lady said they didn’t have any, so I asked for a 20. Somehow a 15 foot was given to me?

I don’t know if it was aimed at trying to get me to go away, very odd experience here.

Four stars only because the location is very small for a U-Haul specific place. The employees were friendly, courteous, and timely. I did not have to wait long at pick-up or drop-off. The trailer I rented was clean, in good condition.
