U-Haul Moving & Storage of Orange Park

I reserved 26 ft truck at 909 Leonard c. Taylor Pkwy in Green cove springs 2 weeks in advance online then a week from my reservation I called the location just to make sure the truck would be available and was assured the truck would be there and ready to go and I could give her a call in case of any issues. The day of my rental I arrive at the dealer and there's a line of 26 foot trucks however when I call her she let's me know that none of them are available and uhual has rented mine out to someone else and I will have to go to Orange Park to get one of I still want it this put me 2 hours behind and added 20 miles to my mileage. This is the third time this has happened the second time I was so upset I just cancelled and moved with a friend's trailer. Why is this happening and why was I charged a second rental fee of 40 dollars if I already paid 130 initially I feel like I'm being not only ripped off but taken advantage of

I called the day before to specifically make sure if I come after hours I can pick the truck up. I was told “it’s no problem to get a truck after hours and the key would be in a box on the building”. The workers confirmed this information and when I got to the location I didn’t see a box nor a truck. I called the 1800 number and they informed me that this location did not do self pick. At the point I was very frustrated bc I needed the truck early the next day. Needless to say I was given the wrong information by the people at the location I was picking up at and that made it very difficult to move my items at the time I needed to have the truck.

The uhaul broke down on us 3 times! It was dirty and ran like it had never had any preventative maintenance. Terrible experience the whole way we ended up having to drive the uhaul home to get out of the way of the hurricane that's on its way to jacksonville Florida!
