U-Haul Moving & Storage of Palmer

I want to thank Harry and Brice for helping me at Cobb Street U-Haul today. Harry answered all my questions and looked up pricing and services that will help plan our move. Brice offered suggestions as well. They both had very positive attitudes.

I have rented from Uhaul in the past and have had a good experience as well as used the storage facility in Palmer. We recently rented a 15 ft truck for the day and drove it to Eagle River, then back home and then to Uhaul. It was always in an open parking lot or driveway. We also purchased the additional insurance. It was an older truck with 130,000 miles on it, beat up, and dirty inside but it got the job done. When we turned it in, we were charged ~215 dollars for a 'hole' in the top corner (it looked to be about 1-2 inches in diameter). It was located near a large dent that was there before we rented the truck. The area was likely weakened and finally gave way during transit/wind as nothing ever hit the truck. I called the main line for Uhaul and opened a case also noting that we had purchased insurance for it. The manager at Uhaul in Palmer sent a brief email stating 'the hole wasn't there before you got the truck.' That was it. I responded noting that there was obvious damage in the area as well as the fact we had purchased insurance. He never responded to my email. I called several times and left messages for him, no response. I went in in person and was told the manager wouldn't be seeing customers. I am upset and angry regarding what should have been an easy conversation/explanation to have. If this is how this facility treats it's customers regularly, I will not ever go back. This is not a place I would recommend doing business with.
