U-Haul Moving & Storage of Rapid City

This place needs some cultural competency training with customer service with Native American customers. I came here with my dad to return the U-Haul I rented from Minneapolis to Rapid City during labor day weekend 2023. I thought it was supposed to be a special move since I was returning home. They treated my father and I with so much disrespect. First they asked my dad what he was doing there as if he was just loitering inside the U-Haul business. He has brown skin and I have lighter skin tone. He said no we were waiting to be helped. After I was being helped one of the workers asked me to be move so he can help another customer which was just rude. We waited over 40 minutes and I accused the workers with treating us with disrespect because we were Native American. They didn't address my comment instead they said I couldn't say that. And finally helped us leave. It should only take 5 minutes to return a U-Haul with no issues. I will be using a local business in the future for my moving needs and encourage other Lakota people in rapid to do the same #Landback

Staff was very helpful, kind and went above & beyond!

I have moved all over the US and rented from UHauls all over. This is by far the nicest one I’ve rented from. The staff is exceptionally friendly and go out of their way to help and retain their customers. I’ve rented both trucks and trailers from this location without any issues. All the equipment was in great shape. Thank you!!

Made a reservation a month ago for a 20ft truck, yesterday asked to move it up a day because of incoming weather. Was told another reservation made after ours was given priority and we would get a smaller truck and a trailer instead. Go today for pickup and there are no trucks of either size for a few hundred miles.

Dropped off 1 hr late on 24hr rental and got charged an extra day. picked up Friday at 6pm and dropped off Sat. a 7pm.
