U-Haul Moving & Storage of Roanoke

We rented 8 pods for a cross country house move and our movers forgot to load two bigger items. The pods were stored at this location for a day, and I was able to head over here and got help from Ken who went above and beyond to help me get a list of my pod numbers and locate my pods before they got shipped off to our new house the next day. We found them and were able to pack away our missing items and he offered to assist carrying the the heavier ones being careful to not mess with anything that was already loaded which i really appreciated. We noticed the movers forgot to use 2 locks to lock a couple of our pods all the way and he golf carted a couple more for us very quickly. We got it all done in about 40 minutes and i was able to refund a bunch of unused materials we bought from them earlier in the week with no issue. Went from super stressed to relieved.

The rest of the people ive met including another lady with glasses were all super helpful as well it feels like they genuinely just love to help in any way they can. Moving absolutely sucks but Ken and the team made it so smooth for us and i cant thank them enough.

This place is a royal dumpster!!!!. Entrance to storage units are not paved.. Just dirt. Outside of the units in the back, you will find all kinds of debris.

The main entrance is all uneven and full of pot holes. It doesn't feel safe to store anything in there.

The truck was clean and they had plenty of moving blankets.
The location was difficult to find however, and they improperly marked my gas tank as 1/4 full at the start of the rental, when it was 1/8 full. I took a photo. I drove about 32 miles, and retuned the truck for them to gas up as they said they charge $4.25 a gallon to refill the tank. It should have been 3-4 gallons of gas used. They used their little program, and tried to charge me $89 for gas, for driving 32 miles. I left and took it to a gas station instead, put $20 in the tank, and the tank had more gas than when I started the rental. They tried to rip me off.

Rude young lady employee. Lies about forklift operator. Lies about manager 'no we do not have manager here I can't give you phone number' I should report this place to U-haul corporate office and you could lose i-haul license.
