U-Haul Moving & Storage of Rock Island

I've never had a problem renting ( a truck or storage) with uhaul. I prefer to go to the uhaul company, not the corner store where they do business from there houses and there's a language barrier.

U-haul has been tremendously helpful the past 2 years I have been traveling for work, from storage to trucks and trailers, everything the company offers has gone smooth and staff are always friendly and helpful. Can’t thank them enough!

Absolutely unhinged customer service on the storage end. I was late to pay my monthly storage fee because my pet had an unexpected and costly vet bill, throwing off my finances for the month. I let them know what happened via two different methods of communication, along with an upcoming date that they could expect it to be taken care of. Despite this, they threatened to cut off access to my belongings and put a lien on the items in my unit just 14 days after payment was due. I have been sent (not exaggerating) 20 individual emails in just over two weeks and they have mailed a physical letter to my mother informing family that my bill is overdue. For a bill that isn't even a full month late, that the customer has been communicative about their intent to fix, this level of reaction is absurd. It's also massively counterproductive. In their intense effort to make sure I pay my $97, they have ensured that rather than rent this unit for the next 18 months or more as I had intended, I will be paying this month's fee and then moving my $1,500+ worth of upcoming storage needs to another company. They aren't the only storage units in town and I'm certain there are better options where I won't be subjected to multiple daily emails, social embarrassment, and legal threats over something I've already explained and shared intent to correct. Steer far, far away from this storage option if you expect reasonable communication and good customer service.
