Scheduled to install a hitch on Oct 1 two weeks prior. Get there at 7:15 am and tell me the parts did not come in. No courtesy of a phone call to let me know.
They changed my reservation twice, and promised a free truck upgrade with extra miles that we never received. When we arrived to pick up our U-Haul the larger truck they promised wasn’t available. They made the experience more stressful than it needed to be.
If you aren’t a fan of getting ripped and dislike SHADY BUSINESS PRACTICES, then you need to find another place to get your moving truck/supplies. Charged me for the rental of 2 dozen blankets at $10 a dozen but never put them on the truck for me to use. I called the Uhaul 800 customer service number to tell them of the missing blankets and the rep told me he made notes in my contract or wherever about it all as well as assured me the next day, all would be taken care of. I didn’t realize that the store would still open when I got there to drop truck off but it was 4:56 and they closed at 5, so I went in to tell the lady there about it and as I walked in, they turned the lights off and said we are closed. I told her anyways what happened and she too told me all would be good the next day. It got WORSE. They charged me $177 more for the rental and then stealing the blankets!!!! I called several times Monday, finally got to a person that didn’t put me on hold for 10+ minutes only to learn that the manager would call me on Tuesday with my refund. No call Tuesday, so again, I called them maybe 4 or 5 times, never once hearing or getting to the manager, Eric. I had to drive up there, finally talked with Eric who then tried to charge me almost $30for the use of the 6 blankets that are already on the truck and of a dolly, which PLAINLY STATES IN THE TRUCK THAT THE DOLLY AND 6 BLANKETS COULD BE USED IF NEEDED FOR A CHARGE OF $10!!! Eric looked at me after I told him of the posted charge in the truck and said “Oh, it says that in the truck?”!!!!!! They charged m $26 for fuel they said wasn’t how I got it, which I drove the stupid truck 51 total miles and put over 6 gallons in to make it the same if not a bit over how I got it. They wouldn’t give me my money back. The truck averages 10 miles to the gallon. They are SHADY! Eric the manager wouldn’t take or return my calls, stole my money and has the people skills of a mannequin at Macy’s. They have yet to refund any money btw!
Check in was quick and easy. The helpful and friendly staff were very accommodating in answering questions and concerns I had. The equipment worked as it should. Luckily it was a quick trip and the return process was simple as well. Would recommend!!
