U-Haul Moving & Storage of Shillington

Originally we booked a UHaul truck from morgantown (2 minutes from our house) and the day before our move at 8pm we got a call to let us know that our truck had broke down and that we could go to shillington for a 15ft truck. Shillington is 30 minutes from and to our house so it was very inconvenient with adding mileage that we wouldn’t have had to drive. On the phone they said all they could do for us was drop our rate to 0.99 a mile. When we got there, they told us they did not have the 15ft truck and provided us with a 20ft truck. We showed up at 7 o’clock and by the time we were done paying it was 7:28 with the truck still not there. We had no other choice to take the truck because we had to drive 30 minutes back home because we booked the movers for 8 2 weeks ago. Since the u-haul truck got changed last minute with no warning we couldn’t push the time back for the movers and we had to rush so we could make it back home on time. I feel like we deserve some of our money back due to having to drive 40 unnecessary miles when they could have just upgraded up to a 20ft truck that was at the morgantown location.

It was my first time, I got help a lot, and everything was explained to me and being honest… I felt like a belong to the place with nice jokes and very respectful people.

The man in charge of rentals ( olded mid-aged, caucasian man with bald head and glasses ) was rude snd then tried to take advantage of me while my significant other stepped out, with adding unwanted insurance ( clearly communicated) and then again with the tank in rental van being only a little bit over 2/3 full ( he insisted it was 3/4’s full) and then he demanded a 3/4 full tank upon return, or I’d get a big penalty!!
