Actually wasn’t my original location. My first location was bp in claymont and they didn’t not have my reserved truck so I got transferred to this location. But didn’t have my equipment that I rented so made my job harder than expected. Awful experience overall but not the place in swedsboro fault.
**Title: Unfair Fuel Charge and Poor Customer Service**
I recently rented a U-Haul truck and was charged an additional fee for supposedly returning the truck with an empty fuel tank. This is completely false as I refueled the truck just before returning it.
Despite my attempts to resolve the issue with customer service, they insisted on basing their decision on photos of a non-running truck, which is misleading since all gauges show '0' when the truck is off. They even suggested that the truck was below 1/4 tank, which I would have accepted a minor charge for, but claiming it was completely empty and not running is not only false but feels like a deliberate attempt to cheat customers.
Their refusal to address my concerns and issue a refund, even after multiple communications, reflects poorly on their customer service and business practices. I am taking further steps by filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and disputing the charge with my credit card company.
I urge potential customers to be cautious when renting from this U-Haul location and ensure they document everything meticulously. This experience has been extremely disappointing and frustrating.
Would be nicer if could have access to units 24/7 or at least sometime past 5pm because if working til 5:30pm during the week makes things difficult. The process of getting a unit and then moving out of a unit was great! Just the app didn't let me upload photos so had to go to the office to complete the move out process.
