U-Haul Moving & Storage of Westside Erie

Picked up a 15’ Truck from this site to move a piece of furniture from Ashley’s to my home. The guy there looked like he was dying from heat or over working. I knew I was going to drive 30 miles or less. Uhaul hands you a truck with an empty tank. It was less than a quarter. When I picked the furniture up, I put in 3 gallons of gas from Sams club gas station near Ashley’s. After I dropped the furniture, I returned the truck. When I went inside, I saw the same guy. He was in a worse shape than when I picked the truck up. I usually stay there to check out and get the receipt. But this time, I wanted to give this guy some slack and I did not want to rush him because there were other customers in the store. So, I left. When I went home, I received the receipt. He charged me more than $48 dollars for gas ($30 service fee + $18 for 4 gallons of gas).

I tried to call but no one picked up. So, I went back to the store, the guy was rude and pretty much told me that you are lying. I showed him pictures of the dashboard from when I picked the truck up. He stormed out of the store like a crazy maniac to get a picture of the gas gauge and came back saying, yes, you did not return it as how it was when you picked it up. He said he cannot change anything and I’ll have to come back the next day to see the manager.

So, it is their fault and he wants me to keep driving back and forth to the store to fix their mistake. On the top of that, he added more miles than what I used. I drove 28 miles and he charged me for 34.

Uhaul is scamming their customers by charging “fuel service fee” even though they do not fill up the gas tank after you return the vehicle. When I went back, the vehicle was parked ready for another customer. No cleaning and no fueling!

I should mention that the truck was not safe to drive but I did not care because i needed it for a short drive. The steering wheel was very loose and unsafe to drive.

It was sprinkling rain and they refused to fill our propane due to the weather and made us load the empty propane tanks back into the car. That is sad. Lost a customer. I will not return.

I've called you guys several times put in complaints and everything and no call back . Nonresponse my card keeps being charged every month and Noone wants to call me back . THEY are committing fraud here . Manager needs to call me
