Employees were pleasant and helpful during checkout/check-in. Parking lot was super congested (more than the last time), had no parking spots, customers were double parked, driveway was clogged up with trucks along entry way, and other customers trying to exit while additional customers were trying to enter, which made it difficult to park 26-foot truck we were trying to return.
Center console had ashes in it from someone smoking. Inside the bay area of the truck wasn't cleaned from the previous renter. Most disappointed that I returned the truck with more than the original gas in it. It was on the 5/8 tank marking but when recieved my receipt it was only on the half a tank. The two workers working that evening acted as if I was disturbing them by speaking to them when returning the truck especially their facial expression as I tried to hold conversation with them. Couldn't have felt more unwelcome. The lady at the desk at pick up however was amazing. She was literally polar opposite of her night crew. Overall a good experience but also a experience I would not come back far. Very lack luster.
I needed a unit and truck. I purchased a 10 x 20 unit and a 10 x 15 truck at Worthington Galena. I purchased round about 20 boxes, tape, bed cover and misc stuff to move. Roman cashed me out. He didn't offer 24 hour access to me to get through the gate. When I returned to unload my things and return the truck I couldn't get through the gate. My son use to work for a storage company so unit order to keep my frustration down he suggested I download the app and look for my access code to see if that would work because the card would not. The code did not work either for me to get in. Beyond frustrated, I called the number on the access box to get in the gate. The manager answered. I mentioned to her what was going on. She said that she was on vacation. I told her no one offered me 24 hour access. She said that you guys do not offer 24 access. I said but it says you do on the back of the access card you swipe. The manager Kaelin Newman said it costs an extra $10. I said regardless of how much it cost, no one offered it to me. She continued to say it was nothing she could do about it si I HAD to drive the Uhaul away from the Uhaul facility (causing extra miles) and return back the next day. So, I call and spoke to Roman. I explained the situation to him, he was young and inexperienced. So, I asked to speak to Corey. Corey end up saying that he applied the 24 hour access while we were on the phone. When I arrived to the Uhaul early that day I asked Roman to double check the access machine to get in the gate. He set me up with a four digit pin. I was able to get in that morning to unload by myself. Because I was unloading by myself and didn't have my son to help with his van, I decided to keep to truck to get a few more things instead of making multiple trips. When I arrived that evening to unload, I once AGAIN did not have the 24 hour access that Corey said he put on there to the gate. So, I had to ONCE AGAIN drive the Uhaul away from the facility. Beyond irritated and pissed to say the least. I called and Corey said, he comptrd a day on the Uhaul and extended it until 3pm. It was the major INCONVENIENCE for me and now what could have taken 1 day (rental) now it's taken 3 days. Poor customer service from all parties including the manager Kaelin Newman. When I go to cash out, there were 2 non familiar faces there. Corey and Roman were not there this day. A young man said that Taylor just now put your 24 hour access on your account because Cory nor Roman did not. Taylor, was AMAZING! She gave me the managers card and said you could text her. I mention to Taylor i called her from day one. I did end up texting Kaelin and her end result was there was nothing that she could do. Taylor suggested that I should file a complaint. So, I am. I understand the one day comp. But I feel like the mileage should have been partly compted too. So unacceptable and very poor customer service. Taylor was AMAZING though. Everyone else was not.
